Default Mushy "I think you have to wait another eight to ten years to get another Mushfiq, Tamim or Shakib"

Mushfiq @CI: "I don't think dropping them is a solution, because I think you have to wait another eight to ten years to get another Mushfiq, Tamim or Shakib"

I am really concerned about this aforesaid statement. It gives me the following impressions:-
1. Either we don’t have enough quality players in the pipeline who will be as good as Tamim, Shakib or Mushi or even better

2. Mushi is overrating them and strongly believed that they are the only best players that Bangladesh ever produced and highly likely there are not many coming in their level of excellence in near future.

3. Fans, please shut up- we got the best combination, no point of changing and chopping; we don’t have any Tendulkar siting on the bench and there would not be coming in the next hundred years.

Personally, I think this is an out gorgeous comment, although I strongly believe that they are the best we have at the moment, however, I am sure we will see much better Bangladesh players (with smart heads on their shoulders) in making in few years’ time.

Aren't you saying the same what Mushy have said? Then what's the point accusing Mushy?

Just stop please. Just stop talking to the media. WC is still going on in our backyard. Let us enjoy the remaining games. You guys already got what you wanted, early vacation. Just shut the hell up and give us some peace.

No, my main concern is his assumption on our potential pipeline.

I think we are taking Mushy's words out of context here. He probably meant that the players who were selected for the WCT20 were the best available choice, thus, dropping the players alone might not solve the problem. Even you drop, there are no more Mushy, Tamim and Shakib out there that you could drafting in.

Probably not in next 2-3 years.
However, There are few who can replace tamim for sure. You don't have to wait 8-10 years.

Tamim's replacement: http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...er/629057.html

Shakib's replacement: http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...er/550133.html

Mushfiq's replacement: http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...er/536936.html
Anamul can also keep better than Mushfiq.

Mushfiq is living in an imaginary world.

Anamul will get better than Mushy. Nurul Hasan is also a bright propsect

As for Tamim's replacement, well I hope Shamsur and Imrul replaces him.

No replacement for Shakib. He is a once in a lifetime player

More likely he's talking about experience no? But I sure hope it doesn't take another 8-10 to get similar calibre players, by then most in the XI should be at their level, close to it or better hopefully.

Can't they just shut their mouth up for a moment !? I wonder do they really know what they are talking about !? Its not the fact that I am worried about, my only concern is their negative attitude and pessimistic remarks. Except 'hope' we have nothing lose now. If we start losing 'hope' then what's the point of spending time, money for this game ? If we have players with such negative mentality then we will never ever produce world class players.

I haven't seen this arrogance in Sachin's talk ever even though he remained irreplaceable almost throughout his career.

I don't think he meant to be 'arrogant'. He is just being pessimist about the process of our pipeline players and the incompetent board officials who just know how to make money for their own benefit. Just look at the domestic competitions, BPL saga, selector's dictatorship, BCB President's inability to control board directors, no proper coaching/support staffs which is pretty much the core problem of our poor show in recent times.

We might despise Mushfiq's answers but atleast he is speaking his mind no matter how rubbish they maybe.

If this is the kind of attitude of the players, then no wonder they are not performing as expected.

Our players thinks they are super star doesn't matter how rubbish they play, no respect to the game, fan, cricket and opponent, and that's what they deserve not winning any games.

Not willing to do hard work and progress, because they already is super star, us fan makes everyone super who ever plays for Bangladesh.

without good domestic competitions, like BPL everyone can think they are super star. We need BPL to come back soon as possible to find some good players.

The players get the status of super stars at such a young age that they dont know how to handle it.

Most of the senior players are egoistic, unprofessional and immature. This is now being filtered onto the junior players.

The team will not find much succes in the future....dark days for BD cricket I am sad to say
