What is happenning to Zimbabwe?
Last November @ Sylhet they beat us comprehensively (Shakib and Fizz were missing but everyone else was playing) by 151 runs. I thought they have turned the corner. Winning an overseas TEST match is a big deal. Now they getting hammered by Holland with their best 11 playing. Is Zim following Kenya's path? Where are the Flower Brothers?

And they replaced him with Makhaya Ntini?

The issue isn’t Zimbabwe have been an associate level team ever since 2004. There were many series they drew 2-2 vs Kenya after Kenya had started declining. They have never beaten Afghanistan in a series, even at home. They have managed to squeak past Ireland 2-1 at home, but they will likely lose by the same margin in Irish conditions.
How could any team lose to UAE with a World Cup and millions of dollars on the line, playing at home is unfathomable.
The problem with Zimbabwe is that only Taylor is world class (that too largely at home only). Ervine, Williams, and Raza play decently but only in patches. No one apart from Taylor can consistently put up match winning performances.
Overall, Zimbabwe are one notch below Afghanistan (and we see how they are being outclassed at the World Cup), and slightly behind Ireland. They basically around the level of a Netherlands or Scotland.
Once their big 5 retire (Taylor, Masakadza, Ervine, Williams, Raza) they will struggle
To compete with Hong Kong and USA.

Zimbabwe have been substandard for a long time. They haven't produced world class cricketers which is particularly because of their economic state.
Cricket doesn't pay well much anymore and thus not too many guys coming through the ranks and instead opting to choose other careers. Zimbabwe's economic condition is a mess.

Unbelievable. A test side, lose 0-2 against an associate in ODis. Now lost T20 as well. 0-3 in this tour. Did they have any warmup matches? I don't think so. This was an ambush and total destruction.

It wouldn't hurt playing against South Africa to gain some confidence

In that match Zimbabwean seam bowlers outclassed the Bangladeshi counterparts. Too many blind spots in Bangladeshi cricket.

Well South Africa lost 0-2 at home to Sri Lanka of all teams , these things can happen. We beat West Indies 2-0 after that

Zimbabwe are struggling to keep some of their players, they tend to lose the good prospects to county cricket, I’m sure that’s not helping the quality of their team or domestic system either.
They actually had some decent pace prospects, not sure what’s happened to them. Kind of a shame for Taylor and Jarvis, they were convinced to come back and play for Zimbabwe and at that time the talent coming through was probably a bit better than it had been for the last 10 years or so and now the team is as bad as it’s ever been, that talent coming through doesn’t seem to be around anymore or if it is it hasn’t developed very well.
I think missing out on this WC has hit them pretty hard.
