Miraz bhai, ekta quesition

Rafique is not going to play the ODIs? If he does, then I think it will be better to publish the article after the ODI series is over. Else I think he will be fined if they find out the article.

It will be better for him if you publish the article after he retires from both version of cricket.

ODI squad will be declared before the end of the 2nd Test.

Probably selectors are not considering Rafique for ODIs and Rafique is planning to retire from international cricket.

There should be a thread like the match thread where we will have a stopwatch showing how many days, hours, sec to go before publishing the interview. Looking forward to it.

Rafiq has already started to talk. Making my job easier.

CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Bangladesh's most successful spinner Mohammad Rafique will quit international cricket after the second and final test against South Africa starting in Chittagong on Friday.
Rafique announced earlier this month he would retire from test cricket after the series against South Africa, which also includes three one-dayers.
"I have decided to quit the cricket as mark of protest against a group people in the Bangladesh Cricket Board, who do not like to see me in squads," Rafique told a news conference on Thursday.
"These officials who did not allow me to play test cricket for nearly three years, are now back in the board. So I have decided to quit,"
added the 37-year-old, who has played in 32 tests and 125 one-day internationals.
Bangladesh Cricket Board officials were not immediately available for comment.

Did Rafiq mention specific names he was targetting in your interview? Or did he said the same thing that was published on the media today?

If names are spelled out that would be really really hot. BC could think about selling the interview to the media at high price!! Anyway, I want to hear some names.

For the sake of the team the last thing we needed before the start of the 2nd TEST is this kind of drama.... looks like my nightmare is comming to reality. Rafiq may be talking the truth, but then again he proved he is different and he is not deplomatic enough and that may explain his few fights/communication problems with management, coach and players in previous years.... this time looks like he is making more enenmy i.e. Siddon as an example.

.... I respect him as a player... I recognize his contribution.... but I am saddened by what is happening now. I still believe this is not the time to go as a sore looser....and this is not the way to fight injustice done to him (if he really feels that way) .... he should go with his head high.

btw personally I don't blame the slectors for not choosing Rafiq for NZ tour. I would have done the same for reasons that were discussed here at that time. In this kind of Natok, there will be no winner, every body will be the looser.

I wouldn't blame them either if him not playing the away matches in the NCL was the primary reason.

so whts the big deal? when did our selector chose the best crickets from NCL anywayz? once in a while, when they needs to replace some senior players. Other than that have we ever see em picking up random ppl just because they performed well in tht? At the end of the day they still picks up the one tht is known as "The Pool Player".. like mashrafee, ashraful, or nafis. As far as I remember, Nafis had a hard time in our last NCL. He is in the squad because of his past experience.. NOW, based on tht logic.. how dare they omit rafiq from the group, who has been one of the most experienced, furthermore, THE MOST REASONABLE AND CONSISTENT Bangladeshi blower through out past 4 years!

The big deal has nothing to do with performance. No one doubts the fact that he's one of the better cricketers that we've produced.

Constantly staying away from NCL games as if they weren't important especially when the board has been trying to improve its quality calls for some sort of disciplinary action, IMO. If that's the case, then I have no problem with anyone being left out for a series.

i know shamokal often exaggerate things, but this is really sad. i feel like there's been great injustice done here to a legendary player. what is wrong with those bcb guys. i have a lot more to say about this issue but i wont go too far as it may not be true to that extent. Although i dont think rafique will lie or shamokal will make up this much rubbish

Default brief summary

The report says that while meeting the press, the Captain and coach were accompanied by Rafiq. After the coach's speech, Ash introduced Rafiq with great praises. That made him wipe his eyes before taking the microphone. Emotion ends here.

Fireball after fireball, one spins left the next one to the right and then the change up. right down the middle. BCB admin and Selectors kind a forced him to take the retirement decision. Funny where these reporter learn how to report. There is no direct quote but he (reporter) himself says things as if Rafique is saying. They need to go through a rigorous APA or MLA course.

so attapatu doing it in the middle of the tour is ok but not with rafiq? i mean he lost his prime time which he will never get back and you are telling him to retire chupey chupey without buzzing the horn? Who will listen to him later? then you would say he should have said this when it mattered...

Wait for the interview. I have finished the English version and now writing the Bangla one. I don't blame Rafique for what he said. Someone must come forward to prevent recurrence of some events.

Not only this, telephone calls to select playing XI must stop and there are lot more....

If you're planning on publishing the interview after his retirement and not a day ahead of that no matter what, why give away tiny bits and pieces now? lol.
