Felt little disturbed reading this Prothom Alo report, so wanted to share with you guys -

সমর্থকদের আবেগ বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের শক্তি। কিন্তু সেই আবেগে বিবেচনাবোধ হারিয়ে ফেললে খেলারই ক্ষতি। আবার এটাও হতে পারে, মেহেদী মোটেও আবেগের বশে এ কাজ করেননি। তিনি এটা করেছেন ভেবেচিন্তে। বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে বাজি ধরে অথবা বিখ্যাত হতে। সেটা আরও বড় অন্যায়। কারও খেয়ালের শিকার বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট হতে পারে না। এখানে টেলিভিশন সম্প্রচারকারীদের� � একটু দায়িত্ব থাকে। বিদেশের মাঠে এ রকম ঘটনার সময় শুরুটা ক্যামেরায় ধরা পড়ে গেলেও মাঠে ঢুকে পড়া ব্যক্তির কর্মকাণ্ড এরপর যতটা সম্ভব কম দেখানো হয়। যাতে তাকে দেখে অন্যরা সে রকম কিছু করতে অনুপ্রাণিত না হন।

মেহেদীর মতো মানুষ অথবা তার চেয়েও ভয়ংকরদের আটকানোর জন্যই আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটের সময় স্টেডিয়াম এলাকায় নিরাপত্তার এত কড়াকড়ি থাকে। ওয়াকিটকি হাতে মাঠের ভেতরে-বাইরে অসংখ্য নিরাপত্তাকর্মীর ছড়াছড়ি। পরিষ্কার করে দেওয়া ভালো, পুলিশ-র্যা বসহ সরকারি অন্যান্য আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর কথা এখানে বলা হচ্ছে না। তারা তাঁদের নিয়ম এবং জবাবদিহির মাধ্যমে পরিচালিত হন। কিছুদিন আগে যে ছয় সাবেক সেনাসদস্যকে বিসিবির নিরাপত্তা বিভাগে নিয়োগ দেওয়া হলো, তাঁরা এই আলোচনার বাইরে। কারণ এই ছয়জনের দায়িত্ব বিদেশি কোচদের নিরাপত্তা দেখা পর্যন্ত সীমিত।

বিসিবির বহুল আলোচিত অপ্রশিক্ষিত ওয়াকিটকি-সর্বস্ব নিরাপত্তা দলটির কথাই বলা হচ্ছে এখানে। কিছু বোর্ড পরিচালকের স্বজনপ্রীতি, রাজনৈতিক দল ও স্থানীয় প্রভাব খাটিয়েই এঁরা ‘সিকিউরিটির লোক’ হয়ে গেছেন। বিসিবিতে ঢোকার আগে নিরাপত্তার কাজে এঁদের কারও কোনো অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল না। এ দলটির গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদে আসীন আবার একজন সাবেক ক্রিকেটার। এটাও বেশ কৌতূহলোদ্দীপক। খেলা ছাড়ার পর ক্রিকেটারদের অনেক কিছু হওয়ার নজির থাকলেও ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের নিরাপত্তা কর্মকর্তা হওয়ার রেকর্ড বোধ হয় বাংলাদেশেই আছে।

যোগ্যতা থাকলে সেটা হতেও বাধা ছিল না। কিন্তু যাঁরা একজন নিরস্ত্র দর্শকের মাঠে ঢুকে পড়া ঠেকাতে পারেন না, তাঁর সঙ্গে এমনকি দৌড়েও জিততে পারেন না; তাঁরা আরও সাংঘাতিক অনুপ্রবেশকারীকে কীভাবে ঠেকাবে? উল্টো স্টেডিয়ামের গেটে তথাকথিত এই নিরাপত্তাকর্মীদে� �ই দেখা যায় বিনা টিকিটের, বিনা অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কার্ডের লোক ঢোকাতে। দর্শকদের সন্দেহজনক আচরণের দিকে লক্ষ রাখতে সারা বিশ্বেই নিরাপত্তারক্ষীরা খেলা চলাকালে মাঠ পেছনে রেখে গ্যালারির দিকে তাকিয়ে দাঁড়ান। আর বাংলাদেশে তাঁরা নিজেরাই ব্যস্ত থাকেন খেলা দেখা ও সেলফি তোলায়।

পরশুর ঘটনার পর বিসিবির উচিত ছিল গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ডের ওই এলাকার দায়িত্বে থাকা ‘শোপিস’ নিরাপত্তাকর্মীদে� � দায়িত্বে অবহেলার দায়ে বরখাস্ত করা। পারলে অপেশাদার ও মৌসুমি নিরাপত্তা দলটিকে চিরতরেই দায়িত্ব থেকে সরিয়ে দেওয়া। অবশ্য সে রকম সাহসী সিদ্ধান্ত বিসিবির নেওয়ার কথা নয়। এঁদের প্রতি তারা বরাবরই উদার। এর আগে এ রকমই কয়েক নিরাপত্তাকর্মী ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের মোটা অঙ্কের অর্থ আত্মসাৎ করেও পার পেয়ে গেছে। তখনই বোর্ড কোনো আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেয়নি, আর এ তো দায়িত্ব পালনে ‘সামান্য’ ব্যর্থতা!

বৈশ্বিক নানা কারণে এই সময়টাতেই বাংলাদেশে ক্রিকেটের নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে বেশি আলোচনা হচ্ছে। সে জন্যই বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে এখনই খেলাটির আশপাশে সবচেয়ে বেশি নিরাপত্তা। সরকারও এ ব্যাপারে বিসিবিকে সর্বোচ্চ সহযোগিতা করছে এবং তারই ফল ইংল্যান্ড দলের বাংলাদেশে আসা। ক্রিকেটের নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে সাধারণ মানুষও কম ত্যাগ স্বীকার করছেন না। খেলোয়াড়দের পথ মসৃণ করতে তাঁরা যানজটে নাকাল হচ্ছেন। স্টেডিয়ামের আশপাশের বাসিন্দাদের তো বাসার সামনের রাস্তায় নামতেও ঝক্কি। দর্শক থেকে শুরু করে সাংবাদিক, এমনকি অনেক সময় বোর্ড কর্মকর্তাদের চলাফেরাও নিরাপত্তার জালে আড়ষ্ট হয়ে যায়। তারপরও সবাই কষ্টটুকু মেনে নিচ্ছেন খেলার স্বার্থে। কিন্তু এত বজ্র আঁটুনির পরও একেবারে আসল জায়গায় ফোসকা গেরো চরম হতাশার ও লজ্জার। এমনও নয় যে, এর আগে ‘দুষ্ট’ দর্শকদের এ রকম কয়েকটি উদ্যোগ ওয়াকিটকিওয়ালারা ভেস্তে দিতে পেরেছেন। এবারই কেবল একটি বিচ্ছিন্ন ঘটনা ঘটে গেছে। আদতে এই প্রথম কোনো দর্শক এই চেষ্টা করলেন এবং তাতে সফলও হয়ে গেলেন।

বিসিবির ভান্ডার থেকে এত ‘ডিএ’ খরচ করে অপেশাদার নিরাপত্তাকর্মী পোষার বিষয়টি অনেক দিন ধরেই আলোচনায়। এঁদের কেউ কেউ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কার্ডে লেখা নাম-পরিচয়ও ঠিকমতো পড়তে পারেন না, অনেকের আচরণও থাকে অসংযত। সংখ্যায় তাঁরা এক শরও বেশি। এই অদক্ষ ও অপ্রশিক্ষিত লোকদের বিসিবিতে আনাটা যদি শুধু তাঁদের কর্মসংস্থানের লক্ষ্যেই হয়ে থাকে, তাহলে তো আরও উপায় আছে! নিরাপত্তা রক্ষার মতো স্পর্শকাতর দায়িত্বটাই কেন ছেড়ে দিতে হবে তাঁদের হাতে? কেন ক্রিকেটকেই জিম্মি বানিয়ে খালি করা হচ্ছে ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের ভান্ডার?

বিসিবির কর্মকর্তারাই বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশে ক্রিকেটকে অনিরাপদ প্রমাণের চক্রান্ত হচ্ছে। সতর্ক থাকতে হবে।’ অথচ তাঁরাই অপ্রশিক্ষিত ও অপেশাদার কিছু মানুষের হাতে নিয়মিত দেশি-বিদেশি ক্রিকেটার ও আন্তর্জাতিক সিরিজের নিরাপত্তার দায়িত্ব তুলে দেওয়ার অসতর্ক কাজটি করে যাচ্ছেন। এই জায়গায় যে প্রশিক্ষিত, পেশাদার ও দক্ষ কর্মীদেরই প্রয়োজন, সেটা বুঝতে সমস্যা কোথায়? নাকি বাংলাদেশে এমন সেবা দেওয়া প্রতিষ্ঠানের অভাব আছে?

anyway, it is a relevant article with some relavant contemporary isuues.. refarding that fan i read some other newspapers his other three friends were arrested, one security man is losing his job for helping this guy to misusing wrong stands, the security guy is 'lapatta' ' nikhoj' who link to be helped this guy misusing wrong stand. think of this for one silly incident so many people have to go through vicious circle of inquiry and even don't know what more police are gonna trying to dig out even going further asking his guys family members interrogation.

অবৈধভাবে গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ডে ঢুকেছিলো মেহেদি!

গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ড থেকে সেই ব্যক্তি মাঠেও প্রবেশ করলেও পরে জানা গেছে তার টিকেট ছিলো পূর্ব গ্যালারীতে। বিসিবির লজিস্টিকস কমিটির এক সদস্যের সহায়তায় গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ডে অবৈধভাবে প্রবেশ করেছিলেন তিনি।

“১০০ টাকার টিকিট নিয়ে গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ডে ঢুকেছিল ছেলেটি। আমাদেরই একজন তাকে নিয়ে এসেছিল এখানে।” লজিস্টিকস কমিটির যে সদস্যের সাহায্যে মেহেদি মাঠে প্রবেশ করেছিলো তার নাম সুমন। এই ঘটনার পর থেকেই সুমনকে খুঁজে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না।

বিসিবির প্রধান নির্বাহী নিজাম উদ্দিন চৌধুরী এই বিষয়টি ভালোভাবে খতিয়ে দেখে তারপর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার কথা বলেছেন, “আমরা যদি দেখি যে তার ঢোকাটা যথাযথ প্রক্রিয়ায় হয়নি, সেটা আমরা খতিয়ে দেখবো। দায়িত্বে অবহেলা থাকলে অবশ্যই ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। যদি সত্যিই কিছু বের হয় এখান থেকে, আমরা সেটা অ্যাড্রেস না করলে তো হবে না। আমি বলছি না যে তেমন কিছু হয়েছে। তবে যদি কিছু হয়, অবশ্যই ব্যবস্থা নেব। নিরাপত্তার ব্যাপারটি সিকিউরিটি কমিটিই দেখছে পুরোপুরি। ওদের হাতে দিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। ওরা যা সুপারিশ করবে, আমরা সে অনুযায়ী এগোব। আমাদের এখানেও যদি কোনো লুপহোলস থাকে, সেটা অবশ্যই খতিয়ে দেখে ব্যবস্থা নেব।”

মিরপুর শের-ই-বাংলা জাতীয় ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামের গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ড গ্যালারী থেকে মাঠে সহজেই প্রবেশ করা যায়। এই ঘটনার পর গ্র্যান্ড স্ট্যান্ডের পরিবর্তন হবে কিনা সেই প্রসঙ্গে নিজাম উদ্দিন চৌধুরী বলেন, “হয়ত খুব বড় কোনো কাঠামোগত পরিবর্তন হবে না। তবে কিছু একটা হয়ত করতে হবে, অন্তত সাইকোলিজক্যাল একটা প্রতিবন্ধকতা যেন থাকে। সৌন্দর্য্য যাতে নষ্ট না হয়, সেটাও মাথায় রাখতে হবে। আমাদের স্ট্রাকচারাল টিমের সঙ্গে কথা বলে দেখব আমরা।”

উল্লেখ্য, মেহেদি হাসানকে রবিবার (২ অক্টোবর) রাতে মুচলেকা নিয়ে ছেড়ে দিয়েছে পুলিশ।

Cricketer-turned chief guard denies failure

Entering through the main gate of Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, one will see a heavy man standing nearby with a walkie-talkie, shouting at people, sometimes apparently for no reason.

That man is called Mohammad Ali, a former pace bowler and now the security coordinator of Bangladesh Cricket Board.

No one is quite sure why Ali, who is in his mid 40s, has been given such a highly sensitive job despite having no prior experience in handling the security issues.

Perhaps it is his cricketing background, but it seems absurd to many people as many former players have taken a lot of responsibilities in cricketing world but doing the job of security co-coordinator is unheard of.

Ali got furious when he was asked a question about his knowledge on security issues.

‘I played cricket for nine years. If I don’t belong here who does?’ Ali told reporters.

‘He [Mohammad Ali] does not have any education on security system,’ admitted major retried Hossain Imam, the chief security consultant of the BCB.

‘He is related with the board for quite some time and developed his experience,’ he said.

I hate the seating arrangement in Mirpur. No body listens to anybody. I had tickets for 8 seats in a row in one section and when i arrived they were all full. I tried to get them out and they started arguing with me and was gonna get into fight with me.. saying this is my first time here and the system works like this - ppl seats randomly wherever.

But how am i gonna put all the ppl next to each other?? I bought tickets for that particular section and those seats.... ppl with me was saying to let it go but i had hard time and somewhat persisted till I sensed the guy I am dealing with one loose kid in the head.... and it would be hard for me to get 8 guys out of that section all by myself.

I wanted to get the police in the stadium involved but they are useless and i did realize that every body was sitting in the wrong seat and it would be impossible to seat every one in the correct seat after the fact....

I hate this non care attitude of the police in the stadium or BCB... I think the proper seating by numbers and sections should be strictly enforced....

And for the time being, I am not gonna go into the harrassement the girls face in gallery. All the f****** losers in Bangladesh happened to be watching cricket in the stadium it seems... you can not take any girls or female family members there.. the constant verbal harrassment is out of this world.... you can't trust the incompetent security guards there otherwise I probably would have beat some of this guys up myself ... I was new in the enviroment so wasn't quiet sure the best way to respond... and throughout the day observed many such tensions among the crowd and everybody seem to cheer this...

it's pathetic...

I love cricket and watching cricket from stadium but I hate to say this - A lot of our couNtry youth are PATHETIC and they create a somewhat unbearable enviroment in the stand. Not all but many.

So if any of you going to the game - 1. don't take any girls... 2. if you do make sure the guys outnumber the girls so should it come to a situation you can beat the sh** out of some of this ppl... I am serious. No guy has to tolerate the vile that comes out of these losers against their sisters, cousins, friends, or daughters in the stadium when all they want is to spend some quality time together.

Journalists demand Ali’s removal from BCB in 24hrs

All three associations of Bangladesh’s sports journalists and writers in separate statements on Tuesday demanded the immediate removal of Bangladesh Cricket Board’s security coordinator Mohammad Ali for his misbehaviour with New Age staff correspondent Atif Azam.

Ali pulled the shirt of Atif and dragged him to a place shortly after BCB president Nazmul Hasan completed his press conference at Fatullah during the warm-up match between England and BCB XI.

Ali was visibly upset as Atif sought his picture to BCB’s official photographer to carry it with a report published on Tuesday.

The BSPA in its statement alleged Ali also misbehaved with other journalists on many occasions in the past but the BCB did not take any action against him.
