Thanks MohammadC. I think Mash is doing the right thing. If he feels he isn't strong enough he shouldn't play. Injuries usually come about when the body is weak.

I just want to know why he didnt go to Australia before? Was it due to his wife's pregnancy? I am assuming we wont see Mash in 2011

I think he should retire from cricket and become a coach. He is too emotional to be playing International cricket.

That is such low mentality move by BCB if this is true. If an athlete is injured for serving your cricket, its your duty to pay for the treatment. The athlete shouldn't have to risk another injury to make up for the previous one!

That is a very poor reasoning.

I'm sympathetic of all that he has had to go through both with his career and his family, but he isn't helping himself. He's turning into a sissy and has only himself to blame. BCB ki tomar jamai lage je tomare kole koira gaale chuma diya daktar khanay niya jabe?

It's your health - get the damn paperwork done and get yourself fixed before it's too late and your kids grow up watching you roaming around in a wheel chair instead of kicking a futbol around with them!

This report is total BS. On other sites, he is said to be waiting for the approval as he has already gotten his Visa and all the things covered. No other newsmedia is reporting that Mashrafee is waiting for an 'appeal' from the board. He is waiting for the permission to go oversease. He is a contracted player by BCB, he cannot just do whatever he wants,, especially getting a surgery is definitely not his own decision. The board has to give him their NOC before he can go anywhere.

Besides, in all the cases, national players are in regular contact with the team manager, physio and other board officers.

Apply not appeal.

It appears that Mash has not officially applied (not appealed) to the Board to initiate the process. From this report and particularly the quote, it appears is sitting on his tush waiting for some BCB horta korta to come, and matha bulae, kole kore autralia nie jabe.

Man up, dude - your legs.

I hope and pray he gets his operation done as soon as possible. If I need an operation wouldn't I know what is best for me? What ego comes in between when someone else is bearing the expense?

He also needs to get some neck-work done whilst he's down under.

From the Daily Star:

Surgery beckons Mashrafe again

Sports Reporter

Pace spearhead Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will fly to Australia next Saturday for another surgery on his right knee.

The “Narail Express” made his return to international cricket in the home series against Australia last month after injuring his right knee in December last year but never looked hundred percent fit during the three-match series.

“I felt that it's better to do the operation to prolong my career. Young (Dr. David Young) will first assess the depth of the injury and after that he will give his decision,” said Mashrafe, who was reportedly under pressure to play the series against Australia, yesterday.

Very well said, Tiger's_Eye bro! He will always be a legend in my book. he was involved in about 80% of Bangladesh's famous victories, always took those crucial early wickets. I hope he is in good health physically and psychologically.
