I am pretty sure that WI will get beaten by the big teams, hope that BD beat them also.
If Netherlands, Ireland and WI get beaten by all the teams, then BD progresses.

I think someone can show that all other teams dropping below our current score is a mathematical impossibility. But, your point is valid. We are where we are because of the 4-0 against NZ and 4-1 against ZIM. If we didn't win those matches, today's loss by WI would have been inconsequential.

Having said that, I see no reason to be happy at being #8. We are now capable of beating any team on a given day. I want us to be capable of beating any team everyday. Nothing less than #1 will suffice!

Both WI and SA in our group have troubles against spin. However, we have trouble with genuine pace, so how we play pace might determine how we do against them.

আগামী ১৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি দুবাইয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে বিশ্ব ক্রিকেটের নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা আইসিসি’র নির্বাহী কমিটির সভা। দুই দিনের এই সভায় যোগ দিতে পরশু দুবাইতে যাচ্ছেন বিসিবি সভাপতি আহম মোস্তফা কামাল। আইসিসি’র গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এই সভা শেষে বিশ্বকাপের উদ্বোধনের দুই দিন আগে ঢাকায় পা রাখবেন বিসিবি সভাপতি। মঙ্গলবার রাতে নিজ বাড়িতে জাতীয় দলের ক্রিকেটারদের সম্মানে দেয়া নৈশভোজে এ সব তথ্য জানান মোস্তফা কামাল নিজেই। ক্রিকেটার ছাড়াও বিসিবি’র পরিচালকরাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই আয়োজনে।
নিজের এই সফর সম্পর্কে বিসিবি সভাপতি বলেন, আগামী ১২ ফেব্রুয়ারি আমি দুবাইতে যাচ্ছি আইসিসি’র গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এই সভায় যোগ দিতে। সেখানে আমি আইসিসি’র কাছে প্রস্তাব রাখব যেন ‘৮ এবং ২’ নিয়ে যে ফর্ম্যাট তৈরি করার চিন্তাভাবনা চলছে সেটা কোনোভাবেই কার্যকর করা না হয়। ওয়ার্ল্ড র্যাংকিংয়ের সেরা আটে থাকা দলের সঙ্গে খেলতে হলে নিচের সারির দলগুলোকে নিজেদের মধ্যে লড়াই করতে হবে এবং ‘সেরা দু’টি’ দল উপরের সারির দলগুলোর বিপক্ষে লড়াই করার যোগ্যতা অর্জন করবে—এটা কোনোভাবেই মেনে নেয়া যায় না। আমি এসব প্রস্তাব প্রত্যাখ্যান করার আহ্বান জানাব। একই সঙ্গে সব দলের সঙ্গে সব দলের খেলার প্রোগাম তৈরি করতে বলব।
