BDFlag Sydney Thunder & Sixers set to take on Bangladesh

Quote:
Sydney Thunder will face a BCB XI at Spotless Stadium in Thunder’s final practice match before the start of the KFC T20 Big Bash League.

The fixture will see Sydney Thunder reunited with former coach Chandika Hathurusingha, now the Head Coach of Bangladesh as they prepare for their tour of New Zealand.

“I thought it was a good way to see how these guys measured up against the champions as it’ll give us a lot of confidence if we do well,” said Hathurusingha.

“We’ll get a lot out of it, playing in different conditions against a team in Australia.”

Sick! But T20? We have no hope. But I'm excited!! I'm excited for the NZ tour. Can't wait to see our pacers in those conditions! Hope they all stay fit for it.

Mash, Task, Fizz, Rubel and Al-Amin = Squad Goals.

Hope we pick a strong team.

No Mash, Shakib, Riyad, Mushy and Tamim please. Let's see how we do in T20 without them

Game v Sixers is at a more low key ground which is North Sydney Oval
Game v Thunder is at Thunders home ground which is in Sydney Olympic Park

Should be a real perfect time to field some young guns and get them exposed to foreign conditions without too much pressure being on them. Perfect chance to the likes of Mehedy, Mosaddek bigger roles and see how they perform in those roles.

Chance to give the likes of Nasir and Anamul a proper go.

Chance to see Mustafiz live !!!!!!!!!!

Chance to meet Imrul !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

experiment with a young team in the game against Sydney Sixers.

Take the players who perform in that game and chuck them in with the main team (likes of Shakib, Tamim etc.) in the game against Sydney Thunder

^Lol I think no one will be more surprised than Imrul himself when he finds out he has a die hard fan out there.

On topic- Good initiative. Hathuru is using his connections well.

Can't sleep. First Test messed up my sleep routine. This tour to Aus/NZ reminded me of our previous couple of tours. Specifically of this match for some reason. Tamim + Shakib v Watto. (Oh I know how it reminded me of that match. Stokes thread. Someone mentioned Stokes going at our guys. Last time an annoying pace ALR did that to us was Watto. Sigh insomnia thought process)

In that series we had played a lot of tour matches. Our fresh faces were not ready even for their Institute sides. Just thinking back to the thought of those guys facing likes of Johnson scares me. Of course at the time, we probably had super high hopes and wanted us to win all the game. But in contrast to our current setup, we had no chance! And looking back at it now, I can see the vast gap that we weren't able to see then. We never did. That's why we are the greatest fans. Always believe like a bunch of headless chickens.

I cannont WAIT for a full series vs Australia. They can name any spot and location if they are too scared to come here. Tables have turned! Taskin, Fizz, Rubel coming for your heads! Tamim, Shakib, Mushy are no longer baby tigers.

The stadium will be packeddd... everyone is going to this match and has created a huge interest among Bangladeshis around Sydney... I am going to be driving down from Canberra and I can assure you there won't be a single sit in the stadium left.
Should show the Aussie authorities that there is a huge demand for Bangladeshi cricket in Australia. If you remember the Afghanistan match vs Bangladesh in Canberra it should tell you the whole story.. also the magician fizz is going to be live omgg

Sydney Thunder have Thunder nation, ethnic Indians,Bangladeshis,Pakistanis etc play in the league, the interest is there for a Bangladeshi game.
I wouldn't be suprised if the games are free, the trial matches for the Big Bash usually are.
Some trials are played in regional areas.

are you referring to the MoneyGram Thunder Cup? Its cray cos my pakistani mate was top 3 player of that comp and almost got a contract with Thunder. Another mate of mine made it into the 3rd round because of his offspin. I guess the avenues are there.
