I know how you feel.
I mean watching the games from NY, it's kind of weird because no one finds the game interesting. I mean, 90% of all the Bengali kids watch either Basketball or Football (not Soccer). So it's really different watching from a country that has other priorities. I remember during my class, I would sneak open Google Chrome and go to Cricinfo to check the scores. Who cares about paying attention to the professor, when the scores are what's more important. Then after class, I would run to my dorm room, and without even taking off my book bag, I'd crank open my laptop to find an online stream. I only have 3 or 4 college friends who love cricket as much as I do and I would constantly text them as soon as we hit a boundary or get a wicket. And you probably know the time zone difference. So most games in the past would always start in the middle of the night. I mean imagine waking up 3 in the morning to watch a game when you have class at 8am. But regardless everything, there's nothing more enjoyable than watching your country come to the crease to start their innings. Great stuff, really...
I had watched my country suffer defeat upon defeat ever since I was a child. If Afghanistan, a country with no cricketing field can learn to jump across the moon, in just few years, then how long will it take for Bangladesh to really, and I mean really, make us happy?
