Default Rank These BPL Franchises In Terms of Team Unity

Simple. Just rank the current BPL franchises on how their players bond with each other on and off the field.

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is terrible and 10 is bro love..Lovey dovey

Sylhet- 2
Khulna -9
Dhaka- 1
Comilla- 4
Chittagong- 5
Rajshahi-4
Rangpur-9

Your turn

Not sure how to rank them, but I will agree with you on one point - Dhaka look most terrible with so many superstars playing for individual glories.

This is also a reflection on each team captain. I take back my support for Shakib as our next LOI captain. Riyad should be in serious consideration for it. If not him, I will settle for Tamim as the Bangladesh captain in all formats.

Riyad can't be considered as captain until his position in the xi is completely unquestioned and for me his position is always questioned, if you think about it when new blood is injected into the team which senior player is going to be the first to be chopped? It will be riyad.

These days his bowling is a non factor in selection so he's also short on his versatility (not saying his bowling is completely useless but you can no longer consider him an all rounder imo).

Shakib as captain, I think that chapter should've set sailed when he lost it before, never to return.

Either make tamim a captain in some formats or earmark a youngster and he's your long term guy (it's at least a plan, if the player doesn't work out then so be it someone else will come along or be ready, we've got both mehedi and shanto as good captaincy material).

IMO, it will be a mistake to judge Riyad by performance alone. He acts as a glue to hold the team together, though he is not in a leadership position in the national team. For Khulna, his leadership skills are clearly evident on the field. As a player too, he delivers in critical matches. In the off field, his handling of the media is exemplary so far.

After Mash, he is the best LOI leader for any Bangladeshi team.

Me too.

Some people might not like Tamims behaviour at times nor do I. But he is definitely very active as a captain, always talking at advicing the bowlers/players, which I like. Shakib seems laid back most times, already tried before. I don’t think we need to see him again for ODI captaincy. Riyad or Tamim. Tamim most likely to get my vote as he is a first choice regular in LOI/ODI. Riyad too has a strong case for T20 atm imo. But, let’s see how well Shakib does as the captain of BD T20, for another 6month, there’ll be a t20i tri series in SL March, we will get to see how Shak does.

For me Shakib International captaincy is lethargic and dull, uninspiring. Our players need lot talking too, Tamim can be that one who is talkative hyper than laid back letting things slip away. Riyad as a captain seems a complete different beast, so much agile and active than as a player in the outfield.

Let me give some conspiracies about the potential outcome if the future candidates to become full time captain...

Shakib will be a terrible captain, he will give his full potential as an individual but will fail to merge with the team to give a collective performance. Tamim will be a hot captain, he will keep all the team members on their feet to extract maximum but will collapse under pressure. Riad is a selfish but cool captain- he will do anything to keep his position as a captain, i mean he won't mind to limit ones exposure if he is seen to be threatning to take over his captaincy.. but at the end of the day will technically handle the situation to yield us the result...

Don"t believe in these..

Cannot say much about bonding outside the game, but CV deserve to be the top of the list based on on the field bonding...because good bonding translate to good result ...specially with league like this where there are plenty of stars with big egos.

Purely captaincy wise, with the options we have, I like tamim.

Sammy alone is the Gorilla glue.
Sammy Jr, (Riyad) is tape. Scotch tape.

My "desh'er bari is Khulna." The rest can go to....

Tamim has detrimental points on his shoulder. Putting him in captaincy role would be risking him to a BAN.

Shakib is the only guy who can handle this responsibility and still perform (Tests & ODIs).

T20, yeah, give it to Sabbir. He is cocky enough. He can make the team cocky as well. If that is too radical then give it to Riyad. (I don't care, I love it)

Riyad is not nearly consistent enough to be given the captaincy role but I noticed that every time he has assumed the role of captaincy, his performance has been consistent(based on domestic tournaments etc.)

Worth a shot maybe if Shakib fails in T20s.

T20 captaincy should be given to Sabbir, we need is suave style to rub off to the players. Plus he is arguably the best t20 batsmen avaliable.

Result speaks itself.

Comilla is the best run Franchise of BPL so far this year.

Think inclusion of Bravo improved CoV's team chemistry.

^^ They have some very energtic and charismatic players: Bravo, Hasan Ali, the cool Marlon Samuels, Stylish Liton Kumar Das, the He-man Tamim, the stylish Shoaib Malik, loverboy Al-Amin Hossain, and who can forget Jos Buttler from the Buttler Escapades of last year ODI series.

I think Dhaka raised their team unity up...I will give them 7 now.

Rangpur at the top with a 9

Chittagong takes the bottom with a 1

Dhaka is like new York Yankees, win games based on spending more money than other teams, has high profile players. They are winning games not because of team unity, but because they have better players.

On the other hand Comilla is the best example of how to run an organization based what they have and get the best from thier modest investment. Khulna is second.

No coincidence though Khulna being consistent two years in a row despite having reasonably decent sides-without much star/firepower.

Reminds me a tinge of Rajasthan Royals.

Really proud of Khulna. My Grandpa's division. They are my second team.
