Oh please. Its not about statistics. When you are playing shabbir at 3, there is a hole at lower order. By applying common sense you stop that gap by playing Mahmudullah lower.

Last thing the management should do is to continue messing with his batting slot.

Lower order hitting was not necessary today. Imrul gave a very good start, all that others needed do was to keep wickets at hand and keep rotating the strike. Riyad generally does a good job there, but had a brainfart today.

It was all about the lower order holding their own, unfortunately they failed.

It was lack of skill, lack of character that did us today. Unfortunately, these problems don't have any short to mid-term solution

I hope in the 2nd ODI, we have this XI – Tamim, Imrul, Shabbir, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur, Shakib, Nasir, Sarker, Mashrafe, Taskin and Shafiul. That's 8 batsman, but I doubt we will knowing how our management thinks. We technically went in with 6 batsman. No offence to Mosaddek, but he's too new...2 ducks already...

Didn't want to qoute Ehsan. As Kohli_sox said. I echo it.

Just to add. Statistics is all good to have but team balance is more important. If Sabbir is going up there, then we lack a good finisher at #6-#7. So Mullah is the finisher for t20i's. It makes perfect sense to keep Mahmudullah down the order, to finish off. And mind you, Mahmudullah is the best finisher we have atm. IMHO

True that Riad should batted at no. 6

Team needs a finisher. Mushy to bat at the top.

Do you even understand cricket? How does a team know that they need a finisher today or not so early when Mahmudullah walked in?

I understand cricket better than dim wits like you who was calling to exclude in form Imrul in favor of an out of form Soumya.

Innings building is much more important than having some flair at the end. ATM, Riyad is the best innings builder we have in the team. Again, last thing the management should do is to mess with his slot.

Well when I left home it was 45 off 54. Now I see this. I don't understand how to react!

Yh, mahmadullah needs to drop down order, this is a team game, put him down the order and put nasir or sarkar in 4,they can get 30odd runs... Which in the grand scheme of things is OK if we have fire power down the order

Watched the H/Ls.
Bangladesh needs to play the Leg-spinners better. Left hand batsmen has advantage but that's as long as two lefties are in two sides.

Towards the end, I felt the team panicked.

Anyway, take the positive, better luck next time.

Hard to take positives as a team in general. Sure Imrul and Shakib can feel happy about their batting but as a team it was a collective failure. Bowlers can be excused somewhat.

I blame Mushfiq primarily and Riyad(somewhat) both of them gifted their wickets away...

The way the last batsmen batted after Shakib fell, my grandma could have taken their wickets. Those batters simply don't have the quality to survive against any sort of international quality bowling, let alone a leg spinner. Maybe Mosaddek can be excused as he is still a newbie. But once he got out, that was game over.

Poor post.

Blindly, just like how India and Pak fans blindly judge BD, generalizing.

What Identity crisis? People born or live in UK hold British passport. Sure they love their roots.

How you know the other person is Sylheti? He could be none Sylheti too.

As for myself, I'm Sylheti, I support BD always have in cricket. So don't generalize. 99% UK Sylhetis love, support Bangladesh than Most Deshis anywhere in BD.

The whole team had a collective brainfart. I love that word.

Quote:

Maybe someone asked this question already: who are these two bowlers Mossadek and Mossharaf? Never seen them before but they have not impressed me with their fielding, bowling or batting.
