Mahmudullah joins SLPL, Asharful could follow soon

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ashraful is also expected to join the SLPL as Mushfiq’s Nagenhira Nagas maintained a regular contact with him, sources said.
Ashraful, who is currently in England to play in the Kent’s Premier League for Blackheath, could fly to Sri Lanka directly provided he gets the no-objection certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Ashraful was supposed to return home to join the Tigers’ training camp for the ICC World Twenty20, which is set to resume on August 26. Initially, the BCB had agreed to release the players for SLPL up to that period, but national coach Richard Pybus has now changed his opinion and allowed them to continue as long as they wish.

Good News For Mohammed Ashraful, I think he will replace Ahmed Shehjad or Imran Nazir.

This SLPL is becoming a fertile ground for Bangladeshi players.
Hope Ash gets the chance and shines well in the matches he plays.
Would be a good thing for Bangladesh.

Looks like the SLPL has been ineffective in bringing in quality T20 stars. Even the pakistani players are going away by tomorrow and the league will be left with crap players.

This league was supposed to be better than BPL in terms of the quality of cricket. And now a majority of the stars are inavailable so they are satisfying their needs with players like ashraful and ONE OF THE BEST allrounders like Rana

Ashraful in SLPL
Sports Reporter

Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Ashraful will play for Ruhuna Royals in the ongoing Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL).

The right-hander, who was scheduled to leave England yesterday for Colombo, became the fifth Bangladeshi player to take part in the T20 competition in Sri Lanka after Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Tamim Iqbal and Nasir Hossain.

Meanwhile, the Tigers will be back to business tomorrow after the Eid holidays. The BCB had earlier announced the 15-member squad for the ICC World Twenty20 to be held in Sri Lanka from September 18 and the squad will take part in the T20 tournament in Trinidad & Tobago under the banner of BCB XI.

The camp will end on August 29 and the Bangladesh team will leave Dhaka on August 31 for Trinidad.

“You know the final of the SLPL will be held on August 31, so if any Bangladeshi player plays in the final he will join the team directly in Dubai on September 1,” informed BCB's cricket operations committee manager Sabbir Khan.

After playing the T20 tournament in Trinidad &

Tobago, the Bangladesh team is scheduled to reach Colombo on September 12.

Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches -- against Zimbabwe on September 15 at the Colts Cricket ground in Colombo and against Ireland on September 17 at the Moors Cricket ground in Colombo -- in Sri Lanka before the tournament proper.

The Tigers have been placed in Group D along with New Zealand and Pakistan. Bangladesh will take on New Zealand on September 21 before meeting Pakistan on September 25. Both matches will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

One article suggests it's Nagenahira & this one says Ruhuna. Probably Ruhuna picked him I suppose. Nagenahira is going pretty much good with their current line-up

Hail SLPL. Best league in the world, simply because 5 Bangladeshi playing.
This is a massive opportunity for our boys to make some name for themselves and also have some good practice at the very grounds they will be playing in the upcoming world cup.

Tamim and Mushfiq already stars in that league. Hope Riyad, Nasir and Ash makes the most of the opportunity they will get.

Shakib will either perform or not regardless of how much practice he's had.

So excluding him, that makes it pretty much our entire batting line up in the SLPL. No excuses if they still can't perform in the WC.

The answer is hidden in one of the thousands of pages in the official Ashraful thread. He's playing in some sort of semi-professional league in someone's backyard.

Ashraful is probably the replacement of Shahid Afridi for Ruhuna Royals. Afridi left the SLPL due his wife's sickness.

bradd hogg is only good in aussie as that entire country cant play spin
and Lankan spinners are good but seeing them so far makes me think that Raj, Sunny could be better than most of them

Nameless, numberless jersey for the Bashabo Tendulkar.
