Old age finally getting to him...if he was a spinner, he would have played for another 10 years like Brad Hogg

A fun IPL fact:

Gautam Gambhir have the record for the most ducks and the most 50s in IPL history

Batting wise maybe but body wise he's targeting Inzamam Great player though no doubt!

I remember when he scored back to back ducks for like 3-4 matches. KKR fans were after Shahrukh for continuing with Gambhir back then

Austin's cricket predictions and player evaluations are good as his posts.
His latest prediction was that Bhuvi and Nehra with the ball will match AB, Gayle and Kohli with the bat.

No upsets so far in this IPL. Except maybe for the first game, winners and losers in all the games were predictable. Only surprise was Mumbai not scoring more than 120 on their road.

Usually these are difficult to predict this early, but it seems RCB will be the clear faves once Badree or Starc recovers. DD is almost certain to finish last. KKR at least looks like a top-3 team. Unfortunately, Fizz's team looks bottom-3 material.

Too early to hype. He only cashed in to some 120kph full tosses from B.Kumar and top edged Fizz for a 60m 6 in the last over.

I'm sure he will have a bright future but last nights innings could be replicated by a tail ender tbh.

Sarfaraz Khan looks like a very good late order T20 batsman. His numbers also indicate that. He's unique in the sense that he plays a lotta shots behind the wicket.

KKR vs Mumbai

Their batting are on the same level. KKR's attack is better which makes them the favorites.

Don't know if Shakib will get to play. Best guess for KKR's team selection is it'll be the same as last game except they'll drop Hastings for a third spin option (remodeled Narine or Shakib). But Hastings did do well in the last game.

An analysis by Muthu from cricinfo on why Mustafizur was held back instead of bowling out his overs early on:

Warped by Kohli-ABD stand, Sunrisers strategy Fizz-les out

Quote:
Mustafizur Rahman was their best bowler. He had only nine deliveries at Kohli, three at de Villiers, in the first 17 overs. The first 12 balls were during the Powerplay, when the partnership that would grow to become the second-highest at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in T20s was in its infancy. By the time he returned to bowl in the 18th, Royal Challengers were 183 for 2. At the end of that over, they were 186 for 4.

Those six balls were more proof that this 20-year old Bangladeshi fast bowler revels in a big game situation. It was his IPL debut, but Mustafizur overruled his captain David Warner and brought mid-off up. Out came the cutter, and de Villiers, batting on 82, was duped. He got rid of Shane Watson too and was on a hat-trick. Once again he set his own field.

Would things have panned out differently had Mustafizur bowled more - or even all - of his overs earlier? Should Sunrisers have followed Royal Challengers and used their best man to set the game up rather than save him for damage control? The answer to that might never be found, and it might not necessarily be a mistake either.

Don't get the love for Murno. He is a gd player when comes to fast pitches and small grounds of NZ. Not in Sub Continent. Kallis and Ghambir lost the plot there

Munro can be useful on flat pitches too. The fact is KKR are just to strong for Shakib to find a place. Pathan, Russell, Munro- all top t20 gunz.

The best solution was Shakib being released and picked up by one of the mid-table teams.

Shakib is the senior overseas player in this team and he is wamring benches...since the news of Narine not playing....he should have naturally been selected ahead of the aging Hogg...but that is not the case

That three wicket by Hogg gave him the free license for today game! If he goes wicketless or gives many runs today - than include Shakib. With the addition of Shakib, batting becomes longer and you have a top t20 bowler... But Hogg done well so far.

Is Ghambhir playing a selfish inning? This may help Mumbai. Poor SR.
