Default Did Riyad really resign?

Congratulation Bangladesh and Riyad for his unbeaten 150 but did he really really resign on Day 3 or is he just being a drama queen? There is no BCB announcement or social media status or tweet but cricinfo seems to have picked up on the guard of honour he received from his team mates.

Perhaps this is what he's thinking - this performance may get him a place in the Test squad against Pakistan in November. But if he fails again for a match or two (keep in mind, he never performed well against Pakistan), Domingo prolly would not hesitate to throw him out again. After all, this was a century against Zimbabwe on a flat wicket, it's not supposed to give you long mileage at the fag end of your career. Perhaps he just wants to leave with whatever dignity he got out of this match, instead of trying his luck against Pakistan again.

Or maybe he's trying to bargain with Papon, by creating this drama, that failures in next two Tests will not get him thrown out again.

BCB should prep up Mosaddek and Yasir to take up his place sooner or later anyway.

"Coincidentally, during Bangladesh's last tour of Zimbabwe in 2013, Mushfiqur Rahim announced his resignation as captain in the middle of the ODI series. He overturned his decision after returning home, and captained Bangladesh for another four years."

Looks like it's official, his teammates said their goodbyes to him on social medias, it will be very awkward for him to go back on his words now: https://bn.bdcrictime.com/%e0%a6%b0%...6%b0%e0%a7%8d/

He jumped off the ship avoiding prospects of facing Pakistan again in a Test match.

Why is everyone being so negative about his resignation? The guy doesnt wanna be this "last resort" for our selectors. They went from making him interim captain to dropping him for good to recalling him last minute after 17 months. He obviously wanted to end on a good note and got his wish. Its Papon who is annoying enough to cause all this drama and be "amare to kisui bolenai" crap. A guy almost 36 and not even a regular wants to retire.. Thank him and move on!

Some of you act like a test century against Zim is a crime. Top 5-6 batsmen failed miserably, yet he came and scored a 150 which is no easy feat in any match when half the team is in the dressing room. On top of that, he has not done that bad at all to deserve all this criticism. If I was in his place, I would do the same aswell. Instead of poking fun at him, why not ask BCB what has he done to deserve a comeback in test when the opener was not available, replaced by Riad a 7-8# batsmen, when he was told previously he was not going to be looked at for test in the future. He has given his service for test cricket. Give him the respect and thank him for his service. Only on bd do I see fans shitting on players when they retire instead of thanking them ...

Also, he maybe the first one to retire, don't be surprised in a couple of months if Tamim and Shakib calls it a quit too. Infact, some of Tamim's interview suggests that he may quit a format or two anytime.

It seems like there needs to be drama around everything these days with BD cricket. Papon being the root cause. Riyad wanted to end his rocky test career on a high and I see nothing wrong with that. Papon just needed to keep his damn mouth shut about “he didn’t tell me”.

I've heard the food in Zimbabwe can be quite delicious, although I am curious about the state of tourism facilities there recently, given the country's economic woes.
