Shakib-Mushfiq-Riyad at 3-4-5 should have been our natural batting order since WC'15. Hathuru created whole lot of confusion trying to come up with something unconventional.

Riyad is still coming to bat later than he should.

Was this shakibs best ever innings as a batsman ? If you look at the areas he scored, he smoked it all around the park. Honestly the old shakib is a very limited as a batsman but the way he scored, almost equal amount of runs in all section of the pie gives assurance of his rise as a batsman and his confidence as a No 3. He needs to show he can do more than cut, pull and slog if he surely wants to revamp himself as a great limited overs batsman.

On a sidenote, Ajit Agarkar, prior to showing the wheel was actually talking about how many runs shakib scored just by cutting to the point and then his wagon wheel showed up its pretty even accross the board.

I remember writing something during one of my "mullah sucks" rants. That the reason Mullah garners so much praise is that his baseline is mediocrity, so when he suddenly scores a 100, everyone notices. Shakib's baseline has been one of consistent excellence, so often people tend to forget, overlook and take him for granted.

But I don't think anyone can forget this. He's made the world cup his own little playground.

Worked really hard before the World Cup

Quote:
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been in fantastic form throughout this World Cup. After his five-wicket haul against Afghanistan, the cricketer said that he had worked hard to specifically prepare himself for the World Cup.
This shows what shakib could have been if he was as serious as Virat about his game. he was always casual with the game and even with this casualness his stats are already ATG. think what could have been if shakib worked hard

Shohaib Akhtar is angry why Shakib isnt given Star status.

Murli Kartik saying he should nt be compare with players of other eras, but Shakib manages to always make the top all rounder rankings
