Class and form
In reply to Inquilab:
It does not matter whether Bangladesh is playing the first eleven or second eleven side of a test team (in this case - SL).
Does this occur to anybody that it is a matter of form for the Bangladesh batting lineup?
We don't have Javed Omar Belim in this team because of his injury, we don't and won't have Mehrab Hossain in this team because of his poor form (poorer than poor form). We had only Rokon and Sumon in this team who had the chance to play 4 innings continuously.
And the other player - Bulbul could not play because of his first pair in the first test - the first ever pair for any Bangladeshi in test cricket.
We all know Rokon is not such a responsible player, well at least was not so before Bangladesh got test status besides being a make-shift opener.
Sumon does not like SriLankan bowling attack particularly as his past performance say.
So, we are left with only Ashraful - who did not get the chance to play in the first test as experience was given more importance and so Akram Khan was given chance. And in the first innings, Ashraful could not stay at the wicket for long because of his weakness of "pushing at deliveries" as was pointed out by TV commentators.
