Hathurusinghe in talks with SLC for Head Coach post?
Reportedly Hathurusinghe is in talks with SLC as Graham Ford resigned & their head coach post is vacant now.

Our senior players won't take this lightly. Would prefer more of a batting coach..

That might be a big deal if he decides to do something like that.

Love to see Kumble as our head master. The day I am waiting for...

I hope he is shown the door I think he is massively overrated.....hopefully he will fail miserably with SL and I will be proven right....we need some a fresh face and not someone who has shown nepotism by continuing to pick serially terrible players like soumya .. ....if we cannot get a good foreign coach we should get someone local and dedicated like rafique...not mercenaries like courtney walsh who are just here for the money.

Like it or not, he has been in charge during BD's most successful period so I dont understand the hate. Its easy to blame the coach but not sure what more you expect Hatura to do. We have had fresh faces come and go with no results. Stability is a good thing.
And the last thing our team needs is a local coach with limited experience and limited perspective. Foreign coaches bring different perspective and a different mindset.

Kumble wont come to BD, he will make much more coaching a domestic team or sth. Besides I haven't seen any high profile Indians being part of the cricketing setup of any foreign country.

Reason why Ford has quit is the constant interference of the SL board in team management. Their influence apparently extends to even the final XI selection. They ve even appointed former cricketer Gurusingha as team manager to scrutinize the actions of the coach. Coach supposedly has to report to the team manager. Given this, plus SL's poor dealing with Geoff Marsh i find it hard to imagine someone will want the coaching job.
There is way too much politics for Hathurusingha to make an impact as a coach in SL. He is someone who wants things his way, and he wont get that there. So wisest thing for him would be to politely decline any offers SLC makes.
But having said that if Hathurusingha does want to leave, i dont see it as the end of the world for BD cricket. He has done a terrific job, but off late i get the feel the heights to which he can take us has reached its peak. Obviously we ve improved significantly since he took over in 2014, but we seem to be stuck at a place.
I personally would love to see Anil Kumble, not sure if we can afford him though. Meticulous planner, and a person who instills strong character, mentality. We need a coach who can be stern and take tough measures when needed. I wouldnt even mind Graham Ford (Not sure he ll come after SLC). World class coach who hasnt gotten the respect he deserves.

Good news for us. We need HC until the World Cup. He has to be the mentor that guides youngsters like Soumya, Sabbir, Mosa, Fizz and make the proper players so they become our core.

Yeah Mirza bhai saheeb, please do something.
Please make sure that Coach HSingha does NOT leave us. Do something at SLC committee meeting etc. Like cut off their board room power while they are meeting (no lights, ondhokaar-e boshey thankbey...aar mosha kamrabey!), or mix bhejaal in the committee members' lunch while they are not looking or gone for restroom break etc.
Amader priyotomo coach-ke eibhabey bhagiye niye jabar motlob...eto shooja...dekhiye dibo eibar how many rice have hoow many paddy!

Wouldn't mind a fresh face.
Like I said, this team has reached its peak. Coach cannot do miracles with what we have. The 5 pillars gave you what they had, now they will just collect their paychecks till they are forced out.

He did good, made the team jell well and have a good combination hence reached good heights. However I think he lacks good tactics, he is rather a good 'buddy like coach' to have. I think his flaws have been exposed, he is too stubborn trying same things expecting different results, plus he started some sort favouritism stuffs with some players and was quick to ditch others after few games.
Get Kumble in, I think Kumble will understand what tactically needed to move forward. Talent and skills are their, it's the knowhow and planing during stages, which is temperamental, needs enhancing.
Imagine Kumble comes in, and Bangladesh beats India in the final of next years Asia cup in India. Aww, that be awesome.

Haturu gets $360k/yr from BCB
G Ford used to get $240k/yr from SLC
Kumble used to get $1M/yr from BCCI
Don't thunk Kumble will be interested in BAN. And we shouldn't pay that much either even if we can afford.
Having said that I wouldn't mind a new face. As some said here, I also think Haturu can go this far. But before him, Walsh need to be fired.

Just curious, but does anyone has a vibe that this is coach firing season?
Kumble's gone
Speculation of Haturu's in this thread
And there are also rumors of coach hiring:
Of Jayawardene being asked to take up the job for India...
But Walsh has to go. Bangladesh needs a specialist fast bowling coach...

^Impossible - by now BCB should know how most fan's are heated against Walsh.
The pressure is growing so much that the next series might be his last.
I can sense that, fan's are waiting to explode... his a goner... pretty soon..maybe SA series.

Haturi wont go because he will not get the same freedom from SLC. And SL cricket is not in a good state that haturi can use this to inflate his CV. Lesser money also so overall I dont think hes going.

Funny how some of you seem to feel Kumble is the second coming of crickets own Alex Fergusson. What has Kumble achieved? India has had all its recent success at home. Coaching India for home games is like coaching Barcelona. Even a traffic cone could do the job.
Hathuri has been the best coach for BD and I hope he remains with us beyond the 2019 WC, highly unlikely but he is the best we could get. Nowdays with the IPL and other leagues, BCB will find it extremely hard to get a good coach to commit long term for a 7th ranked national team.
My options post 2019 WC (if Hathuri Leaves) would be to go for someone like Heath Streak or a Stuart Law.

What about reaching CT final with all sorts of troubles in dressing room?
It's not about what has he achieved as a coach, it's more about how he achieved those. He's a strict coach who doesn't spare anyone and also doesn't hesitate to take risks with young untested players. We need a coach like him.
