Dhoni is my favorite indian player and no doubt he is one of the greats of this game but he wasnt a sole factor for all that achievements, he was backed up by a strong indian team.
While the imran khan team was mediocre and he made that team into one of the best of that era. People like Inzamam, wasim, waqar groomed under his captaincy and became legends.

And when Misbah took over, Pakistan was suffering from spot fixing, our captain and 2 main bowlers were banned. Many of the senior players like inzamam, yousaf, kaneria & akhtar retired and misbah was given captaincy of the whole new team of rookies. And inspite of all the criticism directed onto him by his own countrymen, he made Pakistan number#1 in test cricket even though we havent played a single match in our home ground for a whole decade. And he also won asia cup for us

And Pakistan team under sarfraz was inexperienced and was least expected to win the champions trophies.

Pakistan suffered mediocrity for so many years because of Amir and Asif ban! These two are world class. These kind of players does not come often. You take these players out you cripple a team.

Same thing is happening to WI team. They put their bast players out of the team and see what is happening to the mighty WI team.
