Pak beating SL will bring SL back to 7th, Pak will stay 8th but gain a rating or two, which won't be enough to go 7th!

Current matches proving there really are two tiers amongst the test playing nations with a significant quality difference between the two groups.

Absolutely. There's no difference between Pak, Sl, BD and West Indies in limited overs cricket. Not true for tests though.

It ll be interesting to see how Pak fares without Misbah and Younis though. Also Malik is 35, Hafeez 36.

Pakistan got points beating SA, are now 2points behind BD. SL beating Ind will get few points ahead now, I bet. So Bangladesh cannot relax and players acting complacent reaching 6th! Body language has to he better, must win against NZ tomorrow.

If other teams like Srilanka and Pakistan start winning and we start losing, which we already did, we might end up on 8 very soon.

Or beat New Zealand in front of the world and gain 2 points more? Be positive!

Bangladesh now at 95 points over SL who have 94 points.
NZ demoted to 5 and England goes up to 4 as as a result of Shakadullah. So England can thank us for that

Then how come we're still at 7 with 95 points while SL is at 6. A glitch may be at ICC website?

They have not updated yet. You can check the ranking from the predictor site.

Root cause:
In this tournament, Fakhar >>> Soumya + Sabbir

Tbh based on the recent ODI series we played, not on CT 17. I'd say 7th which we wil go now, is pretty right. 6-7th about it. 5th is possible, NZ will slip down. BD, Pak, SL are quite similar in level now. Hence, I think more series needed to differentiate the teams in ranks properly in terms of who is exactly better!
