Bangladesh have broken new grounds in their one-day journey by clinching their highest ever ODI ranking of sixth in the win against New Zealand in the tri-nation series.

The Tigers chased down New Zealand’s 270 with five wickets and 10 balls to spare in Dublin on Wednesday to earn the No. 6 position in the ICC ranking.

The ranking will be made official in ICC’s next update which is done after every series.

Hope SL and Pak lose their matches in the CT and we win at least one. Gotta widen the gap between us as much as possible lol.

^^looks like they have a decimal problem.
Bangladesh are ahead in terms of rating points.

Someone posted the numbers in another thread.
Bangladesh are 0.0055 something ahead in rating points.

This ICC page, they rounded the numbers..so it look like they are tied.

from now till end of September based on FTP and current news:

West Indies is going to play 14 ODIs. (3 vs. Afg; 1 vs. Ire; 5 vs. Eng & 5 vs. Ind)
Bangladesh 3 ODIs or more in CT (Eng, SA, NZ)
Pakistan 3 ODIs or more in CT (Ind, SA, SL)
Sri Lanka 11 ODIs or more (3 ODIs or more in CT and 5 ODIs vs. Ind & 3 ODIs vs. Zim)

In the worst case scenario
if WI wins all 14 games
Pakistan reaches Semi Final of CT
Sri Lanka wins one or two matches in CT and beats Zimbabwe and wins series against India

I think Bangladesh will need to play qualifier then.

However, with the current WI squad, they wont be able to win series against Eng and Ind let alone whitewashing them. However, if the best players return for WI, they may win series against England and India. Mathematically there is still possibility of Bangladesh playing World Cup qualifier but West Indies has to come out as stronger team like England came back after 2015 world cup.

SL lost to a higher rank team, thus didn't lose much. We lost to #5. It was a fraction lead to begin with. May be if they lose to Pak they will go down again.
