Default Team against Afghanistan- A must win game

We should not take Afghanistan for granted. Despite their poor form, they can be a bogey team for Bangladesh.

I hope Saifuddin and Mosaddek recover on time and reclaim their place.

We played our best XI in the match against West Indies and should stick to the same team if players are available for selection. No more experiment please.

Miraz bhai, do you think if we win all the matches convincingly we might still sneak in?

If we win all matches, we will have 11 pts

It is very much possible NZ will lose rest of the remaining matches and stay on 9 pts.
Their remaining 4 matches are against Aus, Eng, WI, Pak.

If there is no abandon matches, i bet NZ will lose all 4 of them. Anyone wanna bet? whats my odd?

If we win remaining matches, we have a good chance to sneak in.

One match at a time.

I would actually keep Rubel against Afghanistan. I think Fizz and Mash alone will kill Afg so Rubel gets another game for the benefit of doubt. I would drop Shabbir though and replace him with Mosaddek, Mithun, Saifuddin, Rhodes, Akram... anyone... just not Shabbir.

Well Miraz bhai is right. Although realistically we are out, we still have to put up a professional show and play out the remaining matches to the best of our ability. Sure we rebuke Mash, Mush, Mish and Mesh out of frustration, but they tried their best.

Now that the pressure is lifted, you shall witness more flowing, free cricket from us. But the irony is.. You should have taken this relaxed approach in the first place.

Our players don't know how to relax and soak up the moment. Growing up in America I know many Western players don't take life for granted. Somtimes driving to a net and do out routine can be a zen moment.

And just look at the babodhaan of their level of thinking and ours. FFS Warner walks around with like 90 bats in his caddy shack. They are out there to have fun, and we are out there to win. They have the luxury to express, we have the desperation and need. Duh. It is obvious which team will win.

They just perform for the sake of performing. And to enable that zone, our team needs to be relaxed.

There IS a reason why Richard Hadlee said cricket is 90% mental.

WI players are very relaxed but they have been performing very poorly. May be they have taken relaxation too literally.

I mean their players chew gum. Imagine the horror if our players did the same. I shudder... Media and fanbase will have field day pointing out the trivial. That makes me wonder, when will our players chew gum and play?

Matches against AFG and Pak are matters of pride, it should be irrelevant whether we make the semi or not.

Going to a cricket match with chip on shoulder is no surefire way to boost performance. It's same as saying being POed after a snorter hits your helmet when evading and you puff your chest to thwack him only to fail.

Pride and emotion ideally clouds mind and performance. Samurai fencers talk about mushin which is basically a whole lotta philosophical hogwash for equanimity which military soldiers cultivate. I mean these attitude "that'l show'em" with swinging arm gesture is archaic if not absolutely laughable. Gone are those days of "jiiid kore dekhaye dimu".

Quote:
Axiom 1: Your mission is to act and conduct yourself according to the merit that deems of a professional athlete and you shall mow through any opponent that comes your away like Swiss cheese regardless. Don't personalize it. Don't emotionalize it. Make it a clean and machine like performance BEFITTING of a winning team instead of petty, resentful mentality.
So respectfully disagree with Eshen.

(And I feel insulted that Bish, Harshee and even Melanie thinks we are somehow "matured" for not being overly exuberant and jubilant. That's a bloody backhanded compliment. Duh. Obviously a professional team won't be happy to get a petty slice of cake. We are far removed from that. And that idiot Harshee also wanted to invoke nagin dance as if that is the be-all and end-all of our image.)

Yeah sure. Let's isolate one celebration, and give it a desi Indian spin to put a whole nation under blast as if that image says everything about ourselves.

Sick and tired of Indian/Paki/cricbuzz "analysists". One idiot even said: It'd "maybe" be even if it was Mirpur. Maybe? Bloody well we almost chased it down on Apian Way today.

I know we should respond with bat, but these constant nagging, bullying, degrading, patronizing attitude by our "Well wisher" "big brothers" get tad bit DAMN ANNOYING if not reverberate to our OWN forum where we act like bunch of frikkin losers approaching every game against the "Mighty" ones with defeatist mindset.

/blah end rant

International cricket is not a frikkin Maury Povich show of "oh look you made fun of me in high school, look where I am at now."

This seems impossible at this point to make Mash sit out no matter how useless he exposes out himself. Same cannot be said for Sabbir although has profound blessing of the skipper. So get Mosaddek and Saifuddin fit. Even if they are not fit, Mithun's very little cameo can be better than Sabbir's frustrating chronic display of failure.

Just realized - Shabbir might play, Mashrafe might not take it into consideration that Dubai and UK are not same condition, same venue.

Already feeling terrified.
