What happened to Munna? He is our most promising leggie. Has he already graduated to A team permanently? Otherwise he is a very significant omission.

I think it's Nurul Hasan Sohan, the second wicket-keeper in the U19 side.
I guess the likes of Shuvagoto, Nasir and Nur are considered too advanced for the Academy.

Fazle Mahmud - One of the best performers at the last Dhaka Premier league. A Left handed batsmen I think who relies mostly on hand eye coordination and little feet movement (as i am told).
Myshukur Rahman - A batsman in the mould of Rakibul hasan, and hence i dislike. He scored 68 for BCB XI against Australia. But so did Rock... :P
Abdul Majid - Highest scorer at the first division league. Scored 807 runs for the whole season. A good prospect
Mohammad Rahee - Best allrounder at the first division league. Off spinner and not a SLA.
Mohammad al amin - No Freaking Idea
Shihab ahmed - Again highest wicket taker at the first division league
Sanjamul Islam- SLA, played for the academy against SA academy and took 7 wickets in one innings, I think ..
Tanvir Hder Khan - No idea
Shohag Gazi - Plays for Barisal division, took 41 wicket last first class league, mostly using Doosra. Is an offspinner of harbhajan mould.
Mukhtar Ali - Bowls for Barisal division... never done anything spectacular. but young..

pardon my ignorance, but what is "first division"? i always hear about it. is first division the next level below NCL/Premier League/Corporate League? and i presume 2nd division is below that???

Shuvashish's omission is definitely conspicuous - or is he considered A team material with the likes of Shuvagoto, Nasir & Noor? Prothom-Alo mentioned the players selected were in the 19-23 age group, I think Ziaur Rahman (the pacer?) might be above that range.

i think shubhashish is considered too advanced for academy. he is A team and has been so for a while. same with Hom and others.

You are correct.
If you compare it with English football system
Premier division=Premier league
First Division=Championship
Second division and so on.

Yup, first division is immediately below Premier League - the top 2 (or is it 3?) teams from first division get promoted to Premier League while the bottom ones from Premier league get relegated to first division. It's somewhat dhaka based as other divisions do not often run their versions of the DPL.
NCL, of course, is a national tournament and Corporate league is participated by corporate houses whereas DPL/first/second/third divisions are club based.

So, who'se training the ones in the A team ??
If someone is considered too advanced for the Academy and left out, they are getting some year round training too, right ???

very soon a 30 ma team will be called up for the preparations of zimbabawe tour. most of the notable missings that my fellow members mentioned will be in that group i think.
that 30 man squad will be the players that will be considered for the national team and the A team in future.
unless anybody from the academy team performs exceptional i dont they will be callled up for A team or national team.
i hope these players complete this one year long training with success.

Next Academy series is against SA academy in SA in August/September.
Let's see how they prepare for that.

That should be a real test for the boys. We'll see how they do on the fast bouncy wickets of SA.
Also Suvashis should have been there. The last academy tour, he was not very impressive and the younger Alauddin Babu had outplayed him. I believe this 1 year training program would have been great for him. And where has Emon been? Is he injured?
