I highly doubt ICC has anything to do with all this drama surrounding ICL players. It's all BCCI.

Btw, NZ already fielded Bond and Tuffey; Pak fielded Razzaq and Rana Naved. I believe it's upto BCB when they want to call back ICL players to the national team.

Great news for ZIM cricket. But can you ZIMFAN enlighten a bit more about the players? As most of them are not known to us.

Mijan bhai you make me hungry. I want that grilled one..isshhh...

obviously, there is no cooling off period imposed by BCCI. then how come pak and NZ aren't abiding by it? they would be at the utter mercy of BCCI (since they are holding the rest of the cricketing world hostage). so BCB is acting mostly on its own will here.

the players made a professional decision to leave BCB fold and enter ICL fold. thats fine and well and i supportedit then, and support it now their right to do so.

i don't feel the ICL players should be punished by BCB, but i do believe that the BCB contract players should be rewarded for sticking with the BCB. i do believe that recently BCB increased salaries of the players by 33%. if this is so, the ICLers should come back with their old salaries before they left, at least for the first couple of years.

It is clear that ZIMB is trying to recollect their test status.Thats good for them, for cricket and for bangladesh too.As G8 are not much interested to play test against us then if ZIM get back the test status again we will be able to play some tests against them.I hope it will help development of our cricket as well.

Perhaps! However, I cannot help but mention a quote. There was a Chicago Bull player who got tired of losing during the rebuilding years following the departure of Michael Jordan. He said right after being traded, "You cannot make chicken salad with chicken ****". The last word rhymes with "shift" and has one less letter.

it's true that Flowers, Heath S, and a couple of other real good players are missing But atleast these 17 had been in touch with cricket & we don't actually know what's their state. We should not be with the preconceived idea that they are all CS. Development of a cricketer is so much dependant on one's own desire to improve / the state of his mind. You never know who can turn into what. Atleast they were having much more cricket that our ICLers, that's sure.

Atleast what one can say here, that the Zim domestic cirtuit will be much more competitive with the inclusion of 17 additional experienced players. That should help to build better cricketers at home. Like I think, with the inclusion of our 15/16 from ICL in this league is going to make the league much more competitive. Their places were taken by some guys in last league. And It is much harder to eject a players out from the team than keeping new comers at arms length. One needs to make noticeable contribution for the team. That increases the level of competition. And that should help to builds good players. Even out of utter CS as our ICLers or Zim-17 are.

Don't you guys always say we are comming and in the end loose by a big margin or atleast loose the tournament ... anyways i dont think zim will win this either way plus if mortaza found his line and length just before the surgery zim top order will crumble as usual

yeah Zimbabwe now has a franchise system, not sure if Bangladesh does?

New Zealand does I think, but no one watches domestic cricket here lol, (shane bond, stephen fleming, nathan astle, craig mcmillan, richard hadlee, chris martin, chris cairns, chris harris, peter fulton, neil broom, tim mcintosh, aaron redmond, paul wiseman are all from my city) but I think we have a franchise sytem

Canterbury wizards, Otago volts, Auckland aces, wellington firebirds, central districts stags and the northern districts knights

The franchise system should be good because a strong international team needs to develop from the grass roots and you need to give people incentive to carry on and play the game professionally because in countries like new zealand you are better off going to university if you dont have much chance of making the national team

Dmitri mascaraenas, graeme napier, andrew strauss etc have all played here in recent years

ryan ervine and stephen marillier are also in talks with the southern rocks team, so it seems that quite alot of players are on their way back, or at least considering it. from what i've read craig ervine is pretty talented (though not quite as taletned as sean) and he has a decent batting record to-date.

The return of these players wont make much of a difference to us, we are still the superior team. They were once stronger than us, but that time is over, we have the lead now.
