Bashar didnt officially retire from Test. He retired from ODIs. For Kapali... well, what can I say, he will always remain a mystique for many of us. If you didnt have the name Kapali, and saw his batting on his day,,, you will just wonder in disbelief about how beautiful his batting is, reminds me of Lara ( No wonder WI legend Clive Lyod once praised him to be the 'one')
But then again, he is just like the other from previous crop,,,, consistently inconsistent. Just like Ashraful, Aftab, Mushfiqur Rahman, Dickens, Mridul, Biddut et al... But no doubt about his ability,, as there was none about Al Shahrier Rokon the most talented orMehrab Hossain Opee the first centurian,,like players. And we all know what happened to them..

All pretty big games, especially the first two. They should televise these games if they don't already and someone should put up a live feed online. This is more exciting than, say, watching us play Zimbabwe...err...no offense.

Shuvagoto has been surprisingly consistent every time he's got the chance.. Do you know how old he is? I think he has played only two seasons ... He should get a proper run-in in the Academy side- may be he is the answer to Tamim's partner in crime [fingers crossed]...
Also, does anyone know what pace Shuvashish bowls at? He has performed much better domestically than his U-19 compatriots- Dollar, Rubel- both of whom already got a stint in the National team. I am glad that they are letting him develop naturally and hopefully after two years in the Academy, he can become our version of McGrath

Spot on, I have always loved to see Kapali bat in his full form. He is like a lesser talented Ashraful and perhaps even more inconsistent. But when he bats, the chip shots over the infield, the caribean styled pull shots.....ahhh just pleasing to the eyes

Unfortunately, that full-form of Kapali has only been seen 3 times- twice against WI in tests, once against India (I don't count retired-home domestic league performances).. that's 3 times in around 100 innings of International Cricket.. Don't get me wrong- I love Kapali, but I don't think we can afford 3 deadwoods in the lineup (Ash + 2nd opener). I am all for replacing Ashraful with Kapali though..

Spy game as Razzaq misses flight!
The Daily Star, Friday, November 20, 2009
Abahani will not get the services of Pakistan international Abdul Razzaq in today's crucial Premier Division Cricket League match against Gazi Tank at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
The 29-year -old all-rounder, who played 46 Tests and 237 ODIs, was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka yesterday but a mysterious phone call forced him to cancel his ticket, claimed an Abahani official.
"What we learnt is that someone from Dhaka in the name of an Abahani official gave him a call and told that the league matches will resume after the Eid vacation and that's why he cancelled his ticket. He took the decision from the airport but surprisingly he didn't even check with the agent," informed Jalal Yunus, vice-chairman of Abahani's cricket committee.
"We are really surprised and can't understanding who gave this call. We talked with the agent and he tried to arrange his ticket in the next available flight but ultimately failed. Now it's not sure when he will come to Dhaka," he added.
Defending champions Abahani is leading the table with an unbeaten record along with their traditional rivals Mohammedan, which take on Kalabagan Krira Chakra in the eighth round match at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium today. Kalabagan followed the leaders with six consecutive wins, so it would be a challenge for the title aspirants Mohammedan to maintain their winning run.
In the other eighth round game, Surjo Torun meet Biman Bangladesh at BKSP.

Lolz Must be someone from Gazi Tanks. Abahani vs Mohadamedan game is on December 4th.
If Gazi lose in the next game, and Victoria or Surjo Torun wins, they will be out of Top 6 and will be hard for them to get back in the later games. There is a good chance for Victoria and ST to win the games.
SO Gazi Doraise lolz..

as much as I want to believe Razzak's story about not coming to Dhaka at the last moment - (mysterious phone call and not double checking with any Abahani offcials or agent) some part of me just saying he is another [edit] (read non-professional, Rashid Latif colleague) Pak player and just not telling the truth that he is not able come right now. By the way, this is only my personal opinion.
Hope Abahani will beat Gazi today. We already won 7 matches in row without Mash (and with very little service of Shakib).
I'm thinking of going to the ground - 2nd half of the match @ Friday afternoon @ SBNS!!
anyone.....?? PM me!

Abdul Razzaq is a [edit] Pakistani cricketer without a sense of professionalism. Nothing better can be expected from him [edit].

As myself:
Razzak's unprofessionalism is not surprising if you recall that this is the same player who was almost sent off an Aussie tour because his "pir" told him to only eat Spinach - and he had complied to the detriment of his health.
