Failed with the bat today, made only 3.

But opened the bowling once again and impressed...

10-0-38-3...

Didn't get support from the other bowlers..his team managed to take only 4 wickets...

An above average outing in the DPL. Coming in at number 3 very early in most games...he added another weapon into his all round repertoire by sometimes opening the bowling.

On to the next challenge, whatever it may be.

Yes, I believe so. He's a good talent. Has age in his side. A couple of years in the Domestic scene will do him a world of good.

Useful player.

He bowls off spin

But he is renowned for his batting(approach, strike rate, team player)

Saif Hasan vs Prithvi Shaw - which batsman will dominate the U/19 world for next two years?

Saif yet to score a lucrative sponsorship or to play in overseas leagues (I mean besides few U/19 matches he played outside the subcontinent). It will be a strong testimony to our age group program if he can still outshine Shaw.

Saif has a list A century under his belt.

While, P. Shaw is praised as next Sachin.

No comparisons

^^ Prithvi Shaw was given opportunities to play in English school system as well in Yorkshire Premier league, besides being part of a highly competitive Mumbai school system. He has been groomed to succeed in different conditions against different sort of players.

Saif so far has been groomed only to succeed at our home conditions. This is where I was trying to draw the comparison.

Forget Shaw, R Pant is the real deal.

He dominating Ranji trophy like a pro.

Average 90+ with a strike rate of 100+ Including a triple hundred. And it's 4 days FC game I'm talking about.

He is also a wicket keeper and got 4 century thus far on his debut season. Was very close to score a 35/40 ball hundred in the U19 WC last year

I hope he's communicating with his former captain much...needs to learn the importance of that role...

I know that he's a very smart kid, booksmart ...hope he can transfer tht into strategies...and the rest that comes with the position.

Be a humble and brave skipper.

Nice writeup on him.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-unde...ry/968999.html

If you all remember the role played by Javed Omar in our early days. Saif seems to do the same. If he indeed has a patient, calm mindset-we could do with him in our test lineup.

He and Mominul should be our future pillars. The 10k guys, if we start playing tests more.
