Default Rasel\'s pace

anyone know what his pace was. the game was saying stuff around 74 mph, but he seems faster than that.

according to one of our members the speed guns were recording speeds 10 mph slower, and that Rasel was bowling in the mid 80s.

anyone think the same thing???

no way mate....at first he was bowling at 65 odd and it looked it as well, i was shocked, i put that to debut nerves, he was concentrating on line and length. But then he hit 75 and 70-odd consistently...he'll improve with more muscle on his frame.

according to cricinfo's player profile,he is a medium pacer.i think medium pacers are the slowest among fast bowlers.fast medium, and fast are the two other catagories.for example, shane bond, brett lee, ntini are fast bowlers, mcgrath, kasper, zaheer khan are fast medium.so i would say that rasel probably bowls around 75 - 80mph.if this is true then he definitely needs to increase his speed by another 5-8mph to really trouble quality batsmen.

At his fastest, Rasel was capable of bowling in the low-mid 80s, assuming Tapash bowls at high-70s.

But he lessened his pace throughout the match. He started the match probably in the low-mid 80s, then started bowling with Pilot up at the stumps.

Pace is not his main weapon.

tapash can bowl up to 85 consistentlsy in ODIs. he is slower in tests

He has a lovely away swinger to the lefties. A yard more of added pace without sacrificng the control will fetch him many many wkts. He can work on that slowly. I was generally pretty impressed with him. He will be a fixture in ODI's. His final over was impressive considering it was his first match. Was unlucky not to have fetched a couple more wkts.

His bowling action did not look very impressive to me. He sorta curls inside before the release. I am not sure how much it will effect his future. However, he bowled very nicely only if Nafees could avoided those misses!!

By the way it looks like Murali's bowling action is very weird. What you guys think?

i agree, and because of that action he loses his pace, he is a medium pacer, same about chacha and just a bit above aftab, or even the same.

The quickest delivery of Rassel was 121 kmph. The quickest delivery of Chacha was 120 kmph.

Incidentally, TEN sports was describing him and Baishya ( peak speed 129 kmph) as FAST bowlers.
Towards the end of the Sri Lanka innings, TEN sports revised Rassel's rating to Medium Fast, but Baishya continued to be described as FAST.

As far as height is concerned, Rassel appeared around 6 feet tall.
