Yes. Banglacricket is dying. But it doesn't have it be.

Passion is good, but no at the expense of losing engagement.

I understand we are a closely-knit community, and it has been labor of love since Tehsin started it in his garage at Virginia.

However business is business.

I can make an offer whereby you will see significant growth in numbers and memberhip. DinRaat's idea is genius, but let's be practical.

For a starting fee $100.00 I will offer the following:
  • growth of active membership by 10% within the first 2 months
  • money returned if you see no results
  • social media advertisement- if BC doesn't have FB, Twitter etc we need to revamp it
  • 10 fresh batch of ghostwritten articles (I will be anonymous)
  • a detailed report to boost forum growth

Additional notes:
-Budget: $100- $500
-You can put the money away in escrow and only release the fund after the job is done.
-We can work as a team. Roey's podcast may be incorporated as a widget.
-I can also link some of my Cricket Curiosities content as widget

For the parties interested, please reach out to me either privately or here.

Thank you for your time.

I also don't think it has anything to do with moderators or forum members. It just hit a bad spell. That's all.

I can get you out of the rut.

Paying $10 per article and giving readers the opportunity to feature on FP and ergo let their name show up on top of search engines will offer incentives and increase competition.

I am afraid that some of the members are kept away by a fad of sh*tposting.
To be more definite - some of the posts flooding banglacricket is made with little substance and misguided purpose.
In bangla, these kind of posts can be described as having "jilapir paech". Its wasteful of one's mind.
Places like Reddit is a cesspool for this kind of 'avant-garde cool-thought', while forums like 4chan/8chan have gone beyond this to the territory of genuinely destructive propaganda that they hide in the name of discovering 'memes'. An 8chan larper believes he/she represents the apex of human thought.

I'm sorry for a long-winded post, but this is truth off my chest. don't let banglacricket become like this. The forum I joined back in 2004 was filled with good and genuine thoughts that passionately went back and forth at each other - free of snarky comments, sarcastic bs, and narcissistic play-acting. We still have bits of it left in us. Let's nurture that.

Unfortunately shovon, writing in small caps with mismatched possessive grammatical error does little to raise the "quality" and "standard" of the forum.

Here is an advice that may be not only apropos for BC but life in general: Stop obsessing over quality. You will find much more inner peace if you do.

Had God, humans or humanity did such the same, then people would have to edit out all the grungy trashes, dustbins, graffiti and all the ghetto dioramas one observes in Bangladesh or other developing countries, such as napit salon, big ol' thelagari balancing haystacks, bales of jute or a truck carrying brick in herring bone pattern marginally missing a passer-by etc.

In your eyes, they may be "errors", "glitches", "impurities" or "imperfections" but in God's eye these are Supreme Beauty.

Some may find the following video reprehensible, while others like me, may find ultimate beauty and perfection in the scenery. To me, this is the REAL beauty of Bangladesh instead of some pristine, non-existent fata morgana of ever-pursuant justification of life as "What it should be".

YMMV

This thread investigates an observed drop in member activity in banglacricket. In a previous post, I suggest some probable causes in specific terms.

Zeeshan, imperfections are human; and suffering, their natural consequence. A human can still stumble in a perfect world, a vendor can have her business struggle, a lover can have his heart broken. Anger and sadness necessarily exist so that we may appreciate fulfillment and happiness. All of these contribute to the health of a community such as BanglaCricket.

Arrogance, deception, malicious intent - these, however, are of a different kind. They gunk up whatever community they manifest in. I refer to these as probable causes to "Why BanglaCricket is dying...". I hypothesize that should we nurture the number of honest and humble posts, BanglaCricket may experience an increase.

I may not engage with you on continuing this discussion.

As does constant fault-finding, cynicism and negavitiy. Let's bring the full table and enchilida if we must talk about quality of a forum.

As far as humility and honest posts, mods might want to take a leaf from your book and start there. The fact they think they are too britches for their own good or the fact many don't lead by example IS the precise reason why this forum died a miserable death months ago.

Instead of professionalism, carrying chip on their shoulder and attacking a member for another post in another thread in passive-aggressive manner only deteriorates 'quality'. Many members do not respect people's boundaries (which let's face it is not ingrained in our culture) and harbors hate which they use it for spite on the wrong thread. The irony is in real life in US they won't go far if this is the level of professionalism.

They constantly point of faults of others and blind and oblivious of their own projections. (Heck, you will NEVER find people like me who is SO introspective that he will rather leave due to the welfare of forum as I once announced. Instead it is filled with pontificating hacks.)

They praise members less and focus on the faults and negavity. Hows is that for the cynicism? This drags the 'quality' of a forum down like the gunkiest material which Drano will struggle to remove choking like Shamika from the block on Saturday night. Oh too edgy and hip that statement? GOOD! That's me.

They play God but not fair or just. They turn a blind eye to one matter, and 'punishes' others for putting up with the abusive members. This is just the tip of the whole matter. They have a 'Suggest Box' but the moment members complain they get thin-skinned. They don't resolve the posting error (500 Internal Server) which has been going on for years, but suddenly appears to exhibit power trip. Many are deadbeats yet still hang on to their badge.

Not because of members' "s***posting" or "snarky" comments or excessive "sarcasm" and certainly not because of me or anyone like me. Randomly ask any member, and they will tell you why the honest reason about the demise.

You do not have to engage with me. That's your prerogative. But I get to respond as I want.

Actually I will disengage further.

I know I keep saying I will leave. Thing is how long will it stick. Oh, you seem to live in Riverside. I know many 'doctors' and 'engineers' live their. Lotttttt of old school folks. Problem with old school folks is that they will defend their kind - ie varikianna murunbi mods and admins- instead of calling fair shots who hates the arrogance and guts of young people like me sometimes just for expressing one's mind and candor. (I hope I got under your skin!)

Have a fantastic day. This forum is all yours. Pretty soon the mods who created the forum will have no friends no play with. And frankly, I take none of it seriously, despite the fact I have left a long response. (One a troll, I will die as a troll!)

I have never thought one day that even Irish Cricket Forums will be more active than Banglacricket.
Heck even Zimbabwean cricket Forum is still quite active. Only two years ago Banglacricket was probably third most active cricket forum behind probably Cricketweb and Pakpassion.net. Other cricket forums were far behind.

This is Irish forums 1st odi vs Netherlands thread post(8 pages)
https://irishcricket.freeforums.net/...d-match-thread
This is Zimbabwean forums Zim A match thread post(5+ pages)
https://www.zimcricketforums.com/vie...08c39b4c40fca6

And now, this is our one Sri Lanka ODI match thread(barely 1 page)
http://banglacricket.com/alochona/sh...ad.php?t=51747

What's the way forward?

The forum is slow , posts are lost when submitting.
The MODs are strict er even though no one comes , they want to maintain ultra high standards.
No one opens threads with questions ( e.g. Has Tamim stopped taking Bensons ? )
Our team is crap.
Our board is corrupt.
New players are crap.
Old players never learn from mistakes ( e.g Mushy proud about his dilscoop )

You know a sites truly dead when #1 cricketer throws spit dummy tantrum and there’s no post/thread on it.

In 2006 there would be a dedicated thread at 10 pages within 12 hours now & 2/3 bans due to galigalj in that thread alone.

I think there was a plan to move the forum to Facebook...not sure what happened with that. But imo Reddit would be better.

It's truly sad to see the state of this place. It's like an abandoned graveyard.

We have seen this behaviour from Shakib way too many times. We now consider him a beyaddob who will never learn.
