Riyad has transformed himself over the last few years, definitely has become a really solid finisher and now a vital part of the odi team, it’s a shame Sabbir hasn’t developed his consistency because with riyad and Sabbir finishing together that could be a pretty awesome combo, but Sabbir would have to be more consistent for it to really make the team better than it already is.

Mahmudullah played while fasting. So did Mushy and Miraz

Then again if Ryad had failed to get those late boundaries he would get all the bashing in the world 😁
Doesn't matter how you start, what matters is how you end.

Btw, players fasting during WC matches, I don't know how to feel about that, I mean roja kaza kora jay na? 😏

You should not play and siam together. Not that it causes lapse in concentration and sloth movement, it can be injurious to your health. Exposed outside toiling hard all day can result in severe illness, muscle cramp, organ damage and whatnot. Ka’ja or Kaffara are for those extraneous circumstances.

You guys wanted to know why people dont rate Riad much?

He has shown it already.

21 from 43 and 25 from 45 when he needed to score quickly for the team.

i don't usually jump the gun much but this time i will. Riyad deserves to get dropped permanently from the national team for that stupidity of an innings. Selfish and faltu cricketer.

When he was in the middle he pretty much decreased the rr so badly and put so much pressure on shakib.

His intent and body language was unbelievably negative. Not only that but mithun must have been spewin (after he got out tryna hit) seeing riyad play test cricket.

Riyad is unbelievably poor at rotating strikes. He literally just bats tuk tuk and tries swinging last 4 overs.

Riyad always always tries to stay not out. He is a selfish cricketer and selfish cricketers do not deserve a spot in the national team.

What an embarrassment getting outscored by mossa at double the strike rate.

The BD crowd were giving it to riyad and rightly so. They deserved to be pissed after they spent big money to watch the game at the ground and they see a player playing with no intent to win. Truly disgusted.

Is riyad a selfish cricketer? Yes he could be but over the last few years he has improved a lot, being selfish is a mental thing, someone needs to give him a kick up the bum so he knows the team comes first, when he plays properly he’s a great asset to the team.

Just imagine how pathetic his already subpar average would be if it wasn't buoyed by all those not outs. Disgusting player and a selfish man who has been gifted a first class passenger ticket on the BCB Express.

That's what happens when there is no competition in the team.
The likes of Subbir, Liton will never challenge Ryads spot.
Eventhough he did finish off many games for BD lately, was crucial against SA, so I still have hopes in him.
He is not 100% fit and that shows

I think fitness and mentality both failed Riyad yesterday. It seemed like he had already given up any chance of winning the game. Whether that was the message from management or just Riyad, I have no idea. But he really needs to show his finishing abilities as there is no way he will be dropped.

Even if it was Maxwell there was always no hope for us to win.
May be he was reluctant to put pressure on his recovering back/shoulder injury for a losing cause.
Anyway I think we shouldn't look too much into yesterday's game, we lost the game when their openers set the platform.

I think until Mushy got out we had a chance. Mithun tried to go gung ho and got out and I think that’s where we decided that let’s save the NRR.

Regardless, I think we all agree that Riyad can certainly do much better as we have seen before. Hopefully we will see his true abilities in the next games.

Today D Warner scored 56 of 84 balls @ the strike rate of 66.66%. Mahmudullah ki dosh korlo?

Will go down as the most overrated player in Bd history. Avg. still won't touch 40 though thanks to his early years of development. That is the beauty of numbers. Cannot hide. But still people will see the 35 up avg. and think he did really well, while actually that number is hugely inflated because of the many totals in losing causes.

Haha, I loved this meme about Atahar where Atahar was hiding from a murderer and then the murderer goes "Mahmudullah!"
Atahar :" scored back to back hundreds in 2015 WC"

That knock against South Africa only a couple of matches ago was a match winning knock(Even though he started slowly). On top of that, he was fasting too...South Africa won by 21 runs and if he had gotten out cheaply who knows if Bangladesh would have won that match...
