Default Match Thread| 1st Test, Bangladesh vs India at Indore |Nov 14-18 2019 (11 PM EST)

Dont know when was the last time India lost a test series at home. But After a competitive T20 series, hopefully BD has a lot of self-belief and will go in all guns blazing in the opening test.

Cholo Bangladesh

Bangladesh Test Squad: Mominul Haque (C), Al-Amin Hossain, Imrul Kayes, Shadman Islam, Saif Hassan, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mehedy Hasan, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasam, Mustafizur Rahman, Ebadat Hossain

India Test Squad: Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), R Jadeja, R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant.

Should have changed to 4-day test series instead, this could be a start.

BD does not have the skill level to fight for 5 days yet and I doubt will get there in next 5 years

Mominul already sounds like hopeless.

Yeap he is saying, ""We are not under any pressure. We all know there isn't much expectation from this series. We are not taking pressure. We will try to play good cricket."

He is speaking the truth but cant say that before the match start where as our Mithun said we are going to play for positive result (not sure whether he said something unrealistic). Regardless very tough situation ahead but they should have the guts to face it at this level.

Do not drop a single catch
Do not miss a single stumping chance
Do not fumble during fielding
Do not miss a runout and try to effect run-outs with minimum chance through athleticism

Fielding is the only way we may show some fighting, most Asian teams including Ind lack in this area.

This Indian team is one of the best fielding wise. Right up there with NZ and the other white teams.

By contrast, Asian teams fielding ranges from inconsistent (Sri Lanka) to poor (Bangladesh and Pakistan) to ridiculous (Afghanistan).

India's bowling attack is by far the best its ever been. And their batting is strong, although not as strong as the Big 5 days of the early 2000s (Sehwag, Dravid, SRT, Laxman, Ganguly).

Good signs of captaincy...making the correct decision right off that bat at the toss

Playing with only 4 bowlers. Ultra defensive mindset

Batting first where as Kohli said they would have bowled first with threw quicks and batting gets easiern2nd and 3rd.day...did we did it intentionally so that we can bat bundled out 1st day.

I guess your view of Indian bowlers has changed over time.

Facts are facts. No longer an attack full of trundlers.

As an aside...it only took 80 years and 600 odd Test matches!

The bowling has been really good.. cant deny that. But the squad makes very little sense. On a wicket like this, they went with 2 seamers only. A clear bowler short. Also wouldve been great to give Saif a chance instead of one of Kayes and Mithun...
