looks like Ash won't have to Bat, but he did pick up 2 wickets Aftab, Nazim and SN all floped. Bashar scored 27 but he's never getting back on the ODI squad. Rasel and Mash keeping doing your thing. Could we hold off Juniad until Asia cup/ Tri series w/ India/SA or anything that is after the kiwi tour. Facing street cricketers on flat tracks is a heck of alot eaiser than facing Shane Bond on Seamers Paridise.

Congrats to Junaed. Looks like he's a major contender for the opening slot for the New Zealand tour.

I was wondering how is the pitch condition...I hope not they are still not playing in typical low pitches..if not..then that's a great sign...our main pacer bowling good in friendly pitch and also the new emerging batsmen doing good...it's hard to judge as they are playing against same known opponents...we should have brought some foreign players just for variations.

I'll go off on bit of a tangent here and say that given the dramatic gulf between our domestic cricket and the sport at its highest level, a player needs to perform in the superlative in order to be considered for Senior International duty. Like Alok Kapali and Dhiman Ghosh during the previous NCL season, their perfomances must make them "too good" for FC and List A.

In terms of batting, our main area of opportunity, I'm talking regular 100s AND a season average in the 50s. So far only Shakib and Tamim have come up with the goods early in terms of centuries.

Bashar (20%) and Khulna team (10%) is once again fined for slow over rate. Mahbubul Karim (Ctg) is fined 40% of his match fee for showing dissent after being given out.

I have already said this few times in this thread..
Mashree is proving why he is million miles ahead of his countrymen...

a real class of his own....

Good to see that fire within for proving himself in a stage where he got nothing else to prove. Where there is no alternative for him. Where his place in the team is cemented long before he bowled the first ball.
Good to see him coming of age and inspiring others to follow his suit.

Its really upto him to start a revolution in our pace bowling department.

Keep up the good work Mashree.

Good form? Pilot? I mean, even I could score a century playing the number of balls that he played!

Maybe you should be playing NCL instead of whatever you are doing right now.

Not a Pilot fan here as everyone knows but I feel like he has worked hard on his batting and we should give credit where it's due.

Question is - can you survive as many balls as Pilot has ?

Being a slow scorer is not a bad thing in FC format.

On a related note, Mushfiqur Rahim has skipped this round of one-day match. He is too worried about his fugitive dad (who he claims to be a victim of local politics) and can't concentrate on cricket.

Agree and if he can keep it up he SHOULD be selected for NZ tour as a TEST player...

Yeap when they return to national squad they are super flop and play in NCL they are good. I don't have any doubt they worked hard. But our standard is below per. Unless otherwise we send our key players outside to play against international players and international venues where pitches and environment are totally different. We will keep on doing the same. No doubt NCL this time has more pation and seriousness, but did we do enough to raise the standard?

Though NCL's performance will be key factor for final selection of national team for NZ tour, I can guarantee that highest run getter or highest wicket taker, if they get called, will fail in NZ just because of the quality of their game, batsmen, pitches etc. BCB, regional and club teams should try their best either to bring quality pacers (even the rejects from other nations) or send the players to play for leagues of other countries. I can't imagine Pilot, or Musfiqur Babu, or even kapali, rajin, or even Ashraful and Aftab showing improvement in future tours, because they only shine in practice... when it comes to real game, they all fail.
