WI cricketers didn't tour because this series would hurt their stats

You heard that right guys, with the exception being Shai Hope who bats like Bradman against us.

This series they had almost nothing to gain. Low key series which will not earn them an IPL contract or help them in anyway. But it will hurt their statistics as was the case in the past. We have beaten full strength WI side in the World Cup by a massive margin, think of what we would have done to them at home.

Furthermore, BCB should show dissent to WI cricket fraternity for this farce. BCB has made a lot of investments and wanted a more competitive series but WI sent a weak team.

This was also a way to slap BCB in the face by trying to insinuate that our bio-bubble protocol is poor

WI were on a 5 ODI losing streak against us and even lost a T20 series when we toured them last.

They knew they would get washed regardless of the side they send. So they are like might as well use it to test bench strength. All these excuse for covid safety is BS and everyone knows it. Its fine. Its not like WI side is progressing better then us. They are becoming an irrelevant side even with their full strength squad with occasional performances and they will stay that way. A team full of franchise cricketers and an incapable board won't win any championships anytime soon.

It is what it is. I am sure we would have won regardless of which squad they sent. It would have been more competitive but we still would have won. At the end of the day, it was just easier for us to get those 30 points for WC league than it would’ve been with a full strength squad.

Covid concern is real. We know. We are from the land where daily death totals are surpassing 2k with ease. It doesn't discriminate on color, religion, gender, age, nothing. Safety first. One cannot blame those who didn't come.

May be in BD, there is a herd community. May be the people have better immune system. But WI folks are vulnerable. Their elders are vulnerable. You don't want to bring it back inside your own house and be the cause of one of near and dear one's death.
