I tried to burn Video-DVD by Nero 7 Essential from file type .dat and .mpeg/.mpg

But it is not burning and giving error that can not transcode and also saying to buy upgrade version while I got the installer of Nero with the DVD writter hardware.

But I able to burn Data DVD.

Can anyone tell me how to burn a Video-DVD from .dat or .mpeg/.mpg
Is there any free software to burn Video-DVD.
Please help!!!

well did you try to write it the way you do data writing? i mean just browse to the files and add them and see if it works. if you want to burn the cd/dvd like a dvd (with menu and stuff) you have upgrade that nero.

So you want to use their software but don't wanna pay?

Your data CD should also work in your dvd player if your dvd player can read photos or mp3. most dvd p can do so?

Else You can try to get a cracked copy. beware its illegal and while trying to do so many virus can come to your pc or spent some money...

I'm having trouble burning a DVD video. The DVD is not protected against copying, so I tried using Nero Express to make duplicates.

Once I put the original disc in, and try to duplicate, Nero Express stores a local copy of the whole thing, and then requests a blank DVD. I have Memorex 16x DVDs...about 100 of them! My DVD writer writes at 8x I believe. After I put in the blank DVD to continue, it refuses to take it, and asks for a blank DVD (which I gave it already anyway).

However, when I tried to burn the DVD with pictures and other data files, it worked perfectly fine. So I'm sure it's not a problem with my DVD-R or the blank DVDs. I'm certainly sure that the original DVD isn't protected against copying, coz it's a video of our function...and the videoman said he didn't make it copy-protected or anythig.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need a different software for burning DVD Movies?

HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

To make the deal even better, this is what would be perfect for me:
http://www.jakeludington.com/dvd_hac...dvd_movie.html

But it asks for $70, something that I can't pay at the moment. Anyone knows of something similar but not as pricy (read: free)?

I was trying to write on a DVD+R. And that was the main problem.

For some reason, I can only use DVD-Rs to burn movies on my computer. And DVD-R would run on most DVD players also. This I wasn't aware of.

So that means, my 100 pack of DVD+R is wasted. Got another 50 pack of DVD-R now. Lifetime supply of DVD's with me now

dont you people ever look for pirated softwares. I mean come on man... I know you got enough mulas, but pirated softwared dont harm anyone.
Try torrenting it out. I just cant live without my torrents. all my softwares are pirated. the only original software i have now is my vista. And IM also planning to change that with a pirated one

i use roxio. and that worked for me. couldn't burn DVD using nero.

if you have DAT files, you need to convert them as .mpg or mpeg first in order to make a DVD. there are many free tools to do that. just google for them

I thought so too. But apparently, it didn't work in the case of movies. It worked when I was only trying to burn data files.

Some DVD burners can burn Movies only on -r or +r some does both hence you will see +- on their box...

Those who r having problem copying protected movies can use FAB5 Gold or platinum version. you can find them for free (with some search)...
