***Mushfiqur Rahim The Opener***
Do you think Mushfiqur Rahim would have scored more runs and centuries for Bangladesh if he opened the batting?

Not sure to be honest. While his overall techniques against pacers are sound, he often got undone by express pace at early part of his innings.

Mushfiq isn't the best when it comes to the added pace and struggle against the inswing because of his technique where his front moves front and across making him an LBW candidate.
Mushfiq also doesn't play lofted shots so doesn't need to play as an opener who generally uses the powerplay effectively. Litton is a good example of someone who uses the PP well.
Furthermore Mushy is our best batsman and he is super good against spin and its better he bats at 4. Furthermore, when set he is a good finisher. It would be a massive loss if he had to open. We have a lot of top order batsmen right now, just not enough batsman to play well in the middle order properly.

Yeah need Mushy in the middle for stability and impetus at the end. He's definitely not the best against a swinging ball especially at express pace. Absolute class in the middle overs, though.

No. Openers are different breed. They have a different mindset. No putuputu fragile egomanic can open.

In tests ? No way , usually openers in test matches have a harder time than the middle order with the new ball and besides middle order batsmen have enough opportunities to score runs unlike in ODIs where the top order gets most opportunity and balls.
