England-Italy. I see a 1-1 draw after a boring match. The only great thing about England, the original member of the Just-One-Cup Club, playing in the World Cup is the "50 Most Shocking" series inspired by their habitual blunders. The fact that they're not as good as they delude themselves into believing just adds to their predictable demnse.

Uruguay-Costa Rica. I see a 1-1 Draw after an exciting game packed with missed opportunities. That said, I'll be rooting for Los Ticos all the way. Uruguay is second only to KhyatZentin on my blacklist.

Normally, I can always find a team to root for in any WC match. When the Poms play the catenaccio-favouring Italians, I can't; although there's always that little schadenfreude about seeing the English delusions shattered. That said, I agree with you Sohel; it probably won't be an exciting match.

Or a new Roberto Baggio may emerge, who knows.

Man, la defensa Uruguaso is so beautiful to watch. A seamless fellowship of real men defending their perimeter like real men. You need genius, Zindane-like vision, uberaccuracy, and perfectly timed and weighed passes to penetrate this cordon. Then you'll need a finisher with the quality of Romario, Ronaldo, Neymar, Batistuta, Voller, Klose, Drogba or Higuain to beat a very good goalie rarely out of position. Something very Italian about this defense. Lovely to watch and appreciate.
Cavani scores. Caveman looks perfect for all that pace and power. What he lacks in vision and sense, he compensates with that combination. A guy like him will score like crazy in the EPL.

A poor miss by Costa Rica from the free kick attained by a nasty foul by the UG skipper,
does not really comply with above statement though.

Second half now exposing a typical Uruguay, lots of colorful cards on display.

Uruguayans are pretty vulnerable on attacks from the left, aren't they?

Los Ticos have cojones and will not go quietly into the night. Campbell is a fearless player with fierce pace. Leading 2-1 and looking for the third.

Costa Rican wingers have pace and their midfielders execute stretch passes well. this is forcing the Uruguaso defense to come out and get beaten. The center's holding OK but Campbell is way too quick for them. He'll beat most defenders I reckon with that wide receiver's speed.

Quite a number of comebacks from a goal down in this tournament so far, na? Brazil-Croatia, Netherlands-Spain, and now Costa Rica-Uruguay.

Uruguay playing and no red card - that could be a record, but alas!

Both CONCACAF teams have won. I hope the next two do too.
