বিসিবির সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, মাঠের বাইরে দুই খেলোয়াড়ের মারাত্মক কিছু শৃঙ্খলাবহির্ভূত কর্মকাণ্ড খুঁজে পেয়েছে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল। শাস্তি হিসেবে বিপিএলে ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজির সঙ্গে চুক্তির অর্ধেক টাকা জরিমানা করা হয়েছে আল আমিনকে। বিপিএলের খেলোয়াড় ড্রাফটে ২৫ লাখ টাকা মূল্যের ‘এ’ গ্রেডের খেলোয়াড় ছিলেন তিনি। সাব্বিরকে জরিমানা করা হয়েছে চুক্তির ৩০ শতাংশ অর্থ। ‘এ প্লাস’ শ্রেণিতে থাকা রাজশাহীর এই টপ অর্ডার ব্যাটসম্যানের দাম ৪০ লাখ টাকা।
কিন্তু কী এমন শৃঙ্খলা তারা ভাঙলেন যে, এত বড় শাস্তি দেওয়া হলো জাতীয় দলের এই দুই খেলোয়াড়কে? বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিলের সদস্যসচিব ইসমাইল হায়দার মল্লিক তাঁদের অপরাধ সম্পর্কে কিছু না বললেও জানালেন, ‘টিম হোটেলে আমাদের পর্যবেক্ষক দলের চোখে তাদের শৃঙ্খলাভঙ্গের ঘটনা ধরা পড়েছে। পরে তদন্ত করে দুজনকে এই শাস্তি দেওয়া হয়েছে। আশা করি এতে অন্যরাও সতর্ক হবে।’
বিপিএল সদস্যসচিব না বললেও একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, হোটেল রুমে নিয়মবহির্ভূত নারী অতিথি নিয়ে যাওয়ার অপরাধেই জরিমানা করা হয়েছে সাব্বির ও আল আমিনকে।

শেহজাদের কথায় ক্ষিপ্ত হয়ে সাব্বিরও তাকে উল্টো কথা শুনিয়ে দেন। এরপর তর্ক বিতর্কের সময় সতীর্থ সোহাগ গাজী সাব্বিরকে টেনে নিয়ে যান। এবং আম্পায়ারদের মধ্যস্থতায় এরপর আর এগোয়নি সে ঘটনা।

এই ঘটনার পর সাব্বির রহমান একাত্তর টিভিকে দেয়া এক সাক্ষাৎকারে ঘটনার বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা দেন। তিনি বলেন, ‘তেমন কিছুই না। আমি উইকেটে পৌঁছে প্রস্তুত হতে কিছুটা সময় নিয়েছিলাম। একজন ব্যাটসম্যানের প্রস্তুত হতে কিছুটা সময় লাগতেই পারে।

আমি আশেপাশের ফিল্ড পজিশন দেখছিলাম। কিন্তু সে (শেহজাদ) পেছন থেকে আজেবাজে কথা বলে যাচ্ছিল। উনি আমাকে কয়েকজন গ্রেট ব্যাটসম্যানের নাম ধরে ডাকছিল। ক্রিজে আসার পর তিনি আমাকে উদ্দেশ্য করে বলেন, রিকি পন্টিং, শচীন টেন্ডুলকার ব্যাটিং করতে এসেছে।’

সাব্বির বলেন, ম্যাচের শুরুর এই ঝামেলা মিটমাট হয়ে গেলেও শেহজাদ সেখানেই থামলেন না। কিংসদের দেয়া ১২৯ রানের জবাবে ব্যাট করতে গিয়ে আউট হয়ে ফিরে যাওয়ার সময় ব্যাট দিয়ে সাব্বিরের হাতে আঘাত করেন এই আফগান ক্রিকেটার।

ওই ঘটনা সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে সাব্বির রহমান বলেন, ‘একজন আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটার কিভাবে এমন কাজ করতে পারেন সেটাই আমার বোধগম্য হচ্ছেনা। আমার মতে, এটা হওয়া উচিত ছিল না।’

they are BCB's contracted players so if they brake bcb's code of conduct bcb has the right to fine them..now we need to look at bcb's code of conduct for players to see if it has any rules about behaviors when playing for teams other than BD

The punishment was given by BPL Disciplinary Committee, bot BCB I believe.

They did the right thing IMHO. There was a need to send the message to the players who would think twice now to do the same in future.

The entire setup is still not professional enough to handle such situations. Thus BCB is stepping in. Even for money matters, ultimately its BCB who will be in the firing line should anything go wrong.

Its a massive fine though, unprecedented like Isam described. Losing 14-15K USD would be a heavy punishment, when the highest fine before was only 3500 USD. Pretty sure any player now will think twice about doing whatever these two did.

Why will you fine the players as much as 15-20 lacs? BCB already asked Sabbir to back down from Oscar commercial and now fining the players for involvement with women.

Obviously, BCB has rules against these but fining a player such large amounts doesn't help improve the relations with BCB. Sabbir has to lose out on 12 lacs because of this?

Last time I checked BCB literally pays peanuts to our players. Players get decent income from sponsorship and endorsements though.

জানা গেছে, 'নারীঘটিত' কেলেঙ্কারির কারণে শাস্তি ভোগ করতে হচ্ছে সাব্বির ও আল-আমিনকে। যদিও বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিলের সদস্য সচিব মল্লিক সরাসরি তা বলতে অস্বীকার করলেন।

তারপরও তার কথাতে ইঙ্গিত ছিল নারীঘটিত বিষয়টিই, 'এটা তো আসলে বলার মতো কিছু না। জনসম্মুখে এটা আমরা বলতে চাইছি না। আমরা ধরতে পেরেছি এবং শাস্তি দিতে পেরেছি-এটাই বড় বিষয়। এটার মাধ্যমে আমরা একটা বার্তা দিতে চেয়েছি। তাদেরকে দেখে তরুণ খেলোয়াড়রা অনেক কিছু শিখবে।' সঙ্গে যোগ করেছেন, 'আমাদের কাছে মনে হয়েছে একজন ক্রিকেটার হিসেবে এই কাজগুলো তাদের করা উচিত নয়। এই ব্যাপারে বোর্ড সভাপতির একটা কড়া নির্দেশ আমাদের ওপর সব সময়ই ছিল।'

কোনও ক্রিকেটার শৃঙ্খলাভঙ্গ করলে ভবিষ্যতে আরও কঠোর হবে বিসিবি। এমন ইঙ্গিত দিয়ে ইসমাইল হায়দার বলেন, 'এটা পরিস্কার যেই অন্যায় করবে, খুব অল্প সময়ের মধ্যে তদন্ত করে আমরা তাকে শাস্তি দিব। আগের চেয়ে খেলোয়াড়দের মধ্যে আচরণগত অনেক পরিবর্তন হয়েছে। দুই-একটি ঘটনা ঘটবেই। ঘটার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আমরা অ্যাকশন নিচ্ছি। আমার ধারণা ভবিষ্যতে এই কাজ তারা (সাব্বির ও আল-আমিন) আর করবে না। এর মাধ্যমে আমাদের অন্য খেলোয়াড়রাও সাবধান হয়ে যাবে।'

দল জিতলে উৎসব হয়। বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই সেই উৎসব গভীর রাতে হয়ে যায়। সেখানে এসব নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা সম্ভব কিনা, কিংবা ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজির এই পরিবেশ পরিবর্তন করা প্রয়োজন মনে করেন কিনা জানতে চাইলে মল্লিক বলেছেন, ''উৎসব হতেই পারে, টি-টোয়েন্টি ফরম্যাটকে ঘিরে সব সময়ই আছে। সব দেশেই বিদ্যমান। কেউ জিতলে ১২টা পর উদযাপন করে, কেউ হারলেও খেলোয়াড়দের চাঙ্গা রাখতে উদযাপন করে। উৎসব বন্ধ বা উৎসবের প্রতি নেতিবাচক মনোভাব নেই আমার। সেটা যেন মাত্রা ছাড়িয়ে না যায় বা আমাদের কোনও খেলোয়াড় শৃঙ্খলা ভেঙ্গে কোনও কাজ না করে সেটাই আমাদের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।''

তিনি আরও যোগ করেন, ''খেলোয়াড়রা সবাই সচেতন। মাঝে মাঝে দুই-এতটা ভুল হয়ে যাচ্ছে, সেক্ষেত্রে তারা শাস্তি ভোগ করছে। আবার নিজেকে সংশোধন করে কামব্যাক করছে। সন্তান ভুল করলে বাবা-মা কিন্তু সন্তানকে শাসন করে। তারপরই কিন্তু ভুল পথ থেকে সন্তানকে ফিরিয়ে আনার দায়িত্বও নেয়। একইভাবে বিসিবি যেহেতু ক্রিকেটারদের অভিভাবক, তাই বিসিবি এই ব্যাপারে কোনও ছাড় দিচ্ছে না। শুধু তাই নয়, ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজির ব্যাপারেও আমাদের নিয়ন্ত্রণ কঠোর থাকবে।''

উল্লেখ্য, শৃঙ্খলাভঙ্গের অভিযোগে জাতীয় দলের দুই ক্রিকেটারের বিরুদ্ধে অ্যাকশনে গিয়েছে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল। সাব্বির রহমানকে তার চুক্তির ৩০ শতাংশ, মানে ১২ লাখ এবং আল-আমিন হোসেনকে চুক্তির ৫০ শতাংশ, মানে সাড়ে ১২ লাখ টাকা জরিমানা গুনতে হচ্ছে।

বিপিএলে সাব্বির রহমান চুক্তিবদ্ধ হয়েছেন ৪০ লাখ টাকায় এবং অাল আমিন ২৫ লাখ টাকায়। সেখান থেকেই তাদের জরিমানা টাকা কেটে নেয়া হবে

IMO I applaud the fines from BCB. They need to enforce discpline and this is one of the ways. These kids and future ones need to realise to control themselves on and off the field. This is also spoiling the repuation of Bangladesh cricket team and already tarnished BPL.

I am quite disappointed with Al Amin though, but it seems he is not interested for a comeback in the team.

I am changing my stance on Al Amin being included in the main team. To be honest one rotten apple like him in the team could spoil the whole bunch.

Based on BPL Performance, So it looks like Selectors coach, management an BCB were spot on with the selections after all...

Nurul is there as an understudy for Mushfiqur for tests only.
Rabbi and Shafiul are there for swing bowling(very handy in NZ conditions)...it was important to give Rabbi some international experience before that hence he debuted against England.
Hom...a bit iffy on that but he has to justify his talent and potential otherwise People like Nasir/Mosaddek/Miraz are gonna take his permanent test slot. Selectors got it right for the most part.

I am also withdrawing sympathy from Al-Amin and Sabbir, they should know better!
