I would not go overboard with pacers - this is still a low and slow Mirpur wicket we're talking about, though wintry condition offered some seam/swing movements at times. A better balanced team would be Saifuddin (if fit) in place of Rubel, Mosaddek/Mahedi in place of Soumya.

There seems to be a conflict between team managements desire for pace heavy team and the pitches prepared. Yesterdays game was a spinners field.

^^Mirpur is the wrong venue if they're looking for faster wickets, should have gone to Sylhet.

I think the game was quite a professional execution. Although winning by 6 was still not as good, but I will take it as this is the first match after such a long time. The new bowler is certainly a good find. Seems to have good control, and maintained good line/length. Hope he keeps improving. Rubel was pretty ordinary, got hit all over the park.
Overall good game for BD

That one partnership scored half of the Windies runs.

If we batted first, the outcome could've been easily reversed. I wonder how long our batsmen need to start remembering how to bat in international cricket.

Saif had some discomfort which is why he was not available but will be fine for next match.
Next match I would like to see Saif instead of Rubel. Even in bowling friendly conditions, Rubel looked like an ordinary domestic bowler. I think his time is up and we need to heavily invest in Hasan and Shoriful to prepare them for next World Cup.

Shakib's 4-8 is the most economical spell for Bangladesh in an ODI innings. (Pretty sure.)
Also this is second lowest total of WI against BD. Remember the first one? 61?

From what I saw in the media, Saifuddin will probably replace Rubel in the second match.

As he should. Rubel is looking very ordinary compared to the new batch of bowlers. His time is nearing an end.

Sincere question. Can this WI team (that XI that was fielded) beat a full strength Zimbabwe or Netherlands? I don't think they can beat Afghanistan or Ireland.
