Default Match Thread | Bangladesh vs Pakistan | Rawalpindi | 2020

PAK won the toss and putting us in. Must be a juicy wicket.

Can't believe we've packed our team with hacks like Mithun, Liton, Rubel, and possible Shanto as well. I guess Shanto is still young.

Hoping Saif does well.

Bismillah. Hoping we can shock the PAK.

BCB, please send the Dumbo (Domingo) home and hand the team over to Gibson. This guy still has no clue which player is good for what condition/format.

From CI-

Umair Farooqi: "Good toss too lose for Bangladesh. Pitches in Pakistan are generally flat and after lunch it will be flat. Can BD openers can survive first 2 hours? Nasim and Abbass would be threat."

Still think Naseem is overhyped just like Hasan Ali before him. 150 kph pace isn't necessarily all you need to be a world class pacer.

Didn't expect anything better from Saif, remembering how hopeless he looked during U/19 WC'18

I've always maintained that saif Hassan has never ever scored against a single quality opposition even in his u19 days. Further evident after his 2nd ball duck.

How do we keep producing these "Openers" that can't play pace or a new ball? Un*******believable.

Shaheen sha was a under 19 player too... saif should’ve been comfortable against him...
It’s not like he was facing stayen... or Burma
I think shanto might take over after musfiq back

Hey we didn't lose any wickets in the 3rd over. Definitely won that over.

He should just attack anything wide. Once he gets to a run a ball 30, field will ease up and he can play regular.

The way he tends to shuffle away to leg-side, one of the pacers will find his stumps soon enough

Why blame Domingo? Nannu is the guy picking these guys and leaving out guys with excellent FC records (Nurul and Mosaddek).

Nurul scored some runs in WI and Mosaddek got runs in SL vs Herath and Co.

Mominul hattrick averted. Just needs 199 more for a maiden double and to save BD the blushes.

Domingo still had choices of Soumya (40+ average overseas) and AA (our best bowler in the last Test) over Mithun and Rubel

I haven't noticed any shuffle.

His problems have been playing too tentatively - and pushing at balls to be caught behind. Being caught WK down the legside. And missing the line of a ball from both pacers and off spinners to be trapped plumb in front. Also add reviewing when he's out, and not reviewing when he's not out.

Soumya is a white ball player only. He doesn't have the temparement or technique for Test matches. If he did he'd have more FC hundreds than what he has. He has just 3 and a FC average of just 30.

We need to find batters who can build an innings and bat sessions.

Soumya, with limited number of Test matches he gets, already has a century overseas (NZ). Compare that to your favorite hack Momin - still none after playing for so many years.

If we take small sample sizes into play, look at Mominul's first 3 innings average in "overseas" conditions. 64, 23, 77. Looks like a 40+ average to me.

When you have a stop gap career and bat out position (there is at least a slight difference between #3 and 4) you won't develop your game very far.

Soumya has gotten a million chances, and has a decent average from a handful of overseas games. Good for him, but his temperament and shot selection leads to the ONLY logical conclusion that its most likely a fluke.
