Averaging 50+ in both formats of the game for more than a year. Clearly he has been the best and most reliable for us lately.

Couple years ago people were after his head (myself included) for performing so badly. I am glad he came around that and has been in tremendous form. Best opener we ever had.

ODI SR is too low, but if Soumya is blasting from the other end 80 is OK. Otherwise needs to be 90+ in the modern game.

He has matured and that is why we are not sharpening our tools on him. Fitness has become a prime focus on all the boys. Before NZ if he gets another bhuri surely we will not leave him alone.
Speaking of Biryani, I eat it too (and enjoy it). Moderation is the key.

You know I do.
It is a place where peace and tranquility is injected in you. You see the purpose of your existence (if you are really seeking answers). A firing in all cylinder Mushi is a treat to watch for all cricket fans.

Underachiever. Should be averaging over 35 in ODIs, and over 45 in Tests. A guy like him is capable of scoring a triple hundred, but his highest score to date is 206. The problem with him is that once he scores a hundred, he loses concentration, and doesn't make it BIG. Mushfiqur is not our best bat: Tamim is despite what the stats say in the last 2-3 years. Playing as an opener is much harder than play in the middle/lower order like Mushfiqur mainly does. Mushfiqur should be batting at three anyway in the main forms.

Few factors in his average
He's still only 27...just reaching prime now and he started at 17
Also he's not been helped with injuries to his wrist and knee
But he hasn't helped himself by being out of shape between 12-15,only after world cup he's started to get in shape

Biryani and moderation should not be in the same sentence.

Because he's fit these days. Things started changing fitness-wise as soon as Hathuru was appointed. Not just for Tamim but for everyone in the team and others trying to get in the team.
But saying he should've been dropped in the ODI WC was premature.

Mushy isn't suited for #3. He's very good vs spin, not as good vs swing.
Agree on Tamim losing concentration and good judgment after reaching 100. Gets into a more relaxed, my job is done mode and tries to hit every single ball out of the park. But it's a big improvement from before when he used to do the same after reaching 50.
