He got good googly with good control. Normally you dont see good control with young leggies. He is exceptional.

I like his control and where he lands the ball. Seem to have lot of variations as well. I mean he is no Rashid khan but with proper care and training he might be an asset. Look how India and BCCI took care of Bumrah and how we take care of Fizz. So the board has an important role to play here given Biplob performs well against better opposition.

Ya. Reading all those news in the media, o thought he was an average talent (bits and pieces) brought too early.

But I was surprised by his performace, even it's just one game.

I am sure he have already created a very positive image to the coach. That will help him build his career in the national team.

According to GTV, coach when first saw him playing, he liked him and wanted him in the national team.

Looks like he has already coach's backing. That's good for him.

Guy already turns the ball more than Alok and Shabbir did, that too on a flat track.

He still needs a lot to improve upon. He is also a proper batsman so that's that.

That's a silly comparison - Shak has been number one allrounder for a decade without having to rely too much on turns.

I don't really see the potential - for a leggie, he doesn't turn the ball a whole lot, neither has that much variety.

If I were to bank on potential, I would rather go with Nayeem, who turns the ball as much with his fingers and has more variety with good control.

I dont understand. Took 2 wickets and became an wonder boy? Is the bar going down? I would see how he does in the next couple of matches and decide if he is really a wonder boy or just an one trick pony.

Exactly, if he is wonder boy then what is Taijul, Shohag or Abul. Anyway he is probably out so change of plan again for Mujeeb and Nabi (I think these two players who we need to really pay attention to)

Yes, the bar went down. Hence after defeating Zimbabwe, players get call from PM, fans celebrate as if we have won a world cup. Too many defeats can bring the standard low. Lack of better options can also bring the standard down.

Aminul had an OK debut. Nothing exceptional. Didnt have much pace and googly. He is only 19. Hope He will get better once he gets to work with Vettori

I would wait and see how he does against Afg. Even if he does well against Afg, I would not call him a wonder boy unless he does well against Teams like India, Pakistan

who is Hyping Aminul? Not is this thread. or as a matter of fact who is hyping anywhere in the media?

When a new player open for our national team, its ok to open a thread in honor of him. Its not called hyping.

Actually media was saying exactly opposite to "hyping". They were saying he was not ready yet and his strength is his batting and he is part time bowler. And they may be very right, too early to tell.

But atleast in one game, he didn't looked like over-matched or too ordinary. Actualy he looked better poised and his bowling was better compared to some other senior players against the same team. And its not just two wickets, he bowled 4 solid and consistent and tidy overs with one missed opportunity and one run out (due to run check in his overs). That itself is nothing ordinary, but a good performance regardless how you slice and dice it.

Now does it (one game against ZIM) makes him a wonder boy? No. He needs to show constant performance over time against other good teams also.

Is he a real deal? Who knows. Too early to tell. We have to wait an see how he adjust to future failures.... whether he learns and grows from his failure and experience or he is stuck to a wall (even temporarily or not).

So yes he is no wonder boy yet. But no, its was not an ordinary 2 wicket performance. It was a good performance (by a 19 years old in his first game) to deserve our kudos. Whoever watched him play that game, knows what I am talking.

oh... I got it. The title says "wonder boy".

Its misleading title.

I think if you read the thread and not focused on only the thread title, you will see most of the observation and comments are more balanced.

Thread title is misleading. He is a legspin bowler who bowled only one full toss in 4 over spell. Thats impressive i mean he seemed have decent control. But international cricket is no joke, even Rashid went for 110 runs in 9 overs. So lets see how he copes. He is no Rashid khan but he is as good as we can get at this time as a wrist spinner.

Lmao 4 overs and he is a "wonder boy" setting players up to fail is tradition here.
