Default ICC T20 World Cup 2022 - Qualifier Round

Well, this is embarrassing for SL. Came into this T20 WC with head high up. Crashed out in the first match, lol. They lost by over 50 runs. This will definitely hurt their RR.

Congratulation Namibia

Congrats Namibia. This is a shocker of a result. Wonder if this will raise eyebrows by ICC anti corruption unit

True. Pakistanis will always be scrutinised when they play.

They may play good cricket but they will always be undermined because of their crickets involved with bribery and the terrorists attacks which had forced them to select the UAE as their adopted country.

And ofcourse mainly Indians nationals are the ones who organise this.

This is bad news for us - if SL qualify as Group A runners up, and WI as Group B champion, they will both end up in Group 2 with us. So, we may potentially face Pak, Ind, SA, WI, and SL. We're prolly not winning any match this WC...

I think this is a better news for us. Imagine loosing to Namibia at this stage in the WC. What's more embarassing, loosing to SL/WI or Namibia lol

Cause we all know we have fcuk all chance of doing anything in this format

Man WI also lost..those two pathetic series win over Aus and NZ might just have saved us from round 1 exit in this world cup

Khaisay! West Indies cooked like Bhindis

Well done Scotland. There will be alot of toasts tonight at their camp.

If this happened to the Bangladesh team, the shameless team and selectors would probably say we are not used to playing well this format

Be happy that our idiots don't have to play the qualifiers. Looking at the situation, we would have exited the wc guaranteed

Bangladeshi team should be by default playing qualifiers for all tournaments, despite the fear of not qualifying.

Until the swine of a selectors and management do what is good for the team, we will remain shyyte.

Our team was transformed when we had hardliners like Whatmore and Hatrusingha who know how to get the basics right.

I know we are going through a transition but picking crap like Shabbir, Anamul Haqeue (recently), Nasum and Yasir Ali is just moronic.

I would blame our selectors for choosing wrong players for the wrong format. You have a guy who scored heavily in domestic 50 over tournament and gets a go in t20 and test? Like bro, are you stupid? When he was given a chance in the ODI format, he did well. There are plenty of examples like this ... These selectors are something else.

That's exactly why BCB arranged those home series, on doctored Mirpur pitches last year, against AUS and NZ. Those wins at that time put us ahead of WI and SL, and helped to avoid qualifying rounds this year. From the look of things, our fortune is likely to run out by 2024 though. We may be still safe to stay within top 11 (top 11 teams plus USA will get direct qualifications, ie won't have to play regional qualifications), thus may avoid playing Asian qualifiers against likes of UAE and HK. But, very likely, we will have to go through the qualifying rounds in the next WC main event, like SL and WI having to in this edition.

It's high time BCB stop playing tricks, make some real investments on our grounds and domestic leagues.

Here is to hoping that Shakib carries on till 2024 with the same form. Also, Shanto and co find some sort of consistency. I mean FFS, how long did it take Tamim and co to become what they are today? Obviously, we don't have that much time to make these losers into the next Tamim and Shakib, but at this point, we have no other option. Only Liton and Miraz turned out ok, and to some extent Taskin as well. The rest are just iffy in all category. Fizz has lost it too ...

Lanka's RR is in a good standing now. A win in the next match, even by 1 run should be enough for them to qualify. If Namibia wins, they too will qualify because of NRR higher than NED

IMO, it's unfair that they're making 8 teams play among themselves, for 4 teams to qualify for Super 12. They could have divided 16 team in 2 groups or 4 groups. The top associate teams definitely deserves more matches against full members. They're already having to fight through regional qualifiers for rights to participate in world cup, they should have not have to go through another qualifying phase to participate in the main event.

^ very few people will disagree with you. It's unfair for them to qualify and then needs to qualify again. How ridiculous
