Lets see if the NCL has improved standards due to slightly improved fitness requirements.

Mahmudullah gets Tamim after the veteran opener makes a toiling 30 from 105 deliveries. Then Mahmudullah gets test prodigy Mominul (a Soummya of longer format?) for a paltry 13

Taijul (4) & Shafiul(3) make Dhaka suffer, Rony T 50

Rain - Rangpur vs Khulna/ Barisal vs Sylhet

Metro vs CTG: Mullah 3 wickets, Tamim(30), Sourov(11), Sadikur(52) - Pinak(30) & Tasamul batting

Stumps Day 1.

Tamim and Mominul both gone cheaply for 30 and 11 respectively.

Shafiul amongst the wickets - hopefully doesn't make the India squad.

Only 3 rounds before the tour to India so these games are important.

Kapali’s Sylhet seems very weak in Batting, why can’t BCB even out the teams to instill competition.

First round is over:

Highlight: Kayes 202 n.o.

Tasamul, Taibur, Zabed among runs
Riad, Taizul, Sunny got some wickets

No mentionable performance from pacers

Most NT big shots failed with their main role.

Given the current dearth of pacers for Test team (assuming Fizz or Saifuddin are not fit enough for longer version), Kamrul-Ebadat prolly the best pair we currently have.

^Thanks for the info.

I read Zahurul batted for long 10 hours, highest among recent batters in longer version. Should he be opening with Imrul. I do not see any future in Tamim against India. Tamim should play some home series before tried away. Or may retire.

Kamrul is a carbon copy of Rubel. Ugly action, no real pace, nothing. Assuming Fizz is neither interested nor fit enough for Tests (Fizz has a habit of hiding injuries due to communication problems, and social phobia I think), we will probably have to stick to the all-Sylhet seam attack (Jayed, Ebadat, Khaled). Of those trio I think Khaled has the least to offer, but I want to keep trying him since he has decent 135 k pace and is tall.

I think we need to fast track the current U-19 pacers into the Test team, so they need to work on their fitness. Mjoy, Shoriful, and Tanzim Sakib are by far the strongest U-19 seam attack we've ever had.

It does not look like BCB stopped any of the fitness failures from playing. This board is all talk..

Mominul and Mosaddek continue to fail. Liton scored some runs (but obviously on a flat wicket and we know he doesn't really have the quality to be more than a average Test player).

Abu Jayed going wicketless.

Troubling signs all around with the India tour now barely a month away.

Asaad, many times we did good but bombed the entire tournament. I'd much rather we suck now than be lulled into a false sense of confidence. Should be a cracker of games anyway.....

"They get to play such easy bowling attacks that they rack up hundreds and double-hundreds. Some of them have four or five double-centuries, but they find it difficult to score four or five runs in international cricket"

-Shakib on the level of competition in the NCL

Good point. Easy to give advice. But is he ( and other national players) are providing any help by more participation in local games? Now a days he even takes days off from national games.

Shahadat Hossain headlines for beating (yet again) ...this time the victim was his own team mate and ex national team mate Arafat Sunny. The incident happened in NCL.

^^It's not our national cricketer Arafat Sunny, but Arafat Sunny Jr.

Hope this is the end of the career for Shahadat. BCB should not have allowed him back in just because he settled with the family of that poor little girl that he and his wife tortured so brutally.

BCB needs to take a hard line stance on these sorts of behaviors.

With five years ban, Shahadat's career is over.

Shahid better learn from this example. Apparently Shahid is the one first started picking on Arafat Sunny Jr, Shahadat took it to physical assault.

Both of those thugs have history of domestic violence. BCB overlooked their past, and they thought they could get away with abusing a junior player.

I don’t think shahid is getting away with this. Nannu mama somewhere mentioned they are gonna also look into it against shahid too.
