Default Your XI for the Ireland Tri-Series

Here is my XI for the first two matches:

Tamim
Liton
Soumya
Mushfiq
Shakib
Riyad
Saifuddin
Mash
Miraz
Nayeem
Fizz

I would go with a spin heavy attack against both Windies and Ireland, unless the pitch is damp (that case Rahi gets Nayeem's place).

Given how long Shakib has been out of match practice, I would keep him in middle order for first two matches. Perhaps he can be promoted to #3 in later matches, at expense of Soumya or Liton.

For last two matches:

Tamim
Soumya/Liton (whoever does better in first two matches)
Shakib
Mushfiq
Mosaddek
Riyad/Yasir
Mithun/Sabbir
Saifuddin
Mash
Miraz/Nayeem
Rubel/Rahi

I am all for giving Mosaddek a go for couple of matches this series, at expense of a regular offie. But it's pointless to take him as a late order batsman given his lack of power hitting. He should be taken in the XI only if he can be accommodated in middle order.

1) Tamim
2) Miraz
3) Shakib
4) Mushfiq
5) Yasir/Mossadek/Mithun
6/Mahmudullah
7) Sabbir
8) Saiffudin
9) Mash
10) Rubel
11) Mustafiz/Abu Jayed
No Liton b/c he will score double digits or 20 to 30 runs and Soumya is a coward who scores well in 1 match then flops in the next 10 matches. Consistency and form is important

A sane and intelligent person would give your current 15 squad selected for the WC a final prep before the tournament begins. But not you sir, you stick to your guts. Your hate towards Sharkar/Das is so real that you would rather open with miraz than our actual openers. Want a cookie for your effort?

OHHH guess who's finally banned.

Anyway, the fast bowlers will have to be rotated probably each game. Only Jayed might get 2 games in a row and Saifuddin as well (though he probably won't be bowling all 10 overs as that might over-burden his body along with batting duties).

I want the following players get the most games in Ireland
1 Liton
2 Sarker
3 Yasir
4 Mosaddek
5 Shabbir
6 Mithun
7 Saif
8 Miraz
9 Nayeem
10 Rahi
11 Rubel/Fizz/Taskin (if Taskin goes to Ireland, he should play all the games)

I want the seniors to take some rest. Same goes for Fizz and Rubel. World cup is a long tournament. Keeping that in mind, we have to make sure we give the seniors and the fast bowlers enough rest to keep them injury free for the world cup.

I know most of our seniors didnt get to play competitive match for a while and thats why We can give the seniors a game or two but we need to make sure we dont over use them in Ireland. And this will give us the opportunity to test the youngsters

Pace attack of Rahi, Taskin(if selected)/Rubel and Saif should be able to do the job.

^ I disagree with the notion that world cup is a long tournament. Schedule wise yes, but 9 games is really nothing. It's the equivalent of a proper bilateral tour, maybe even less strenuous. These guys are used to playing test matches, and suddenly 9 ODI games is too long?

Go with the XI that is most likely to play Game 1 of the WC. Only Mash and Fizz might need to be monitored, rest of the boys dont need rest.

^ physically no but mentally it could be. In a biletaral series, you're bound to play against the same playing 11 (maybe one two changes in each match - overall the same team) compared to a worldcup where you have to play 9 different team. That's 99 different players you have to plan and execute for within a short period of time compared to a bilateral series. Mental fatigue > physical imo.

Key is to rest players in Ireland: Tamim

Tamim says few things, some I agree some I disagree.

Agree:

- we need to rotate players so everyone (in the WC team) get enough chance to be ready
- make sure to rest players if they need.. its up to that player and the management.

Disagree:
- I don't think we are playing too many games for most of the players (except for FBs)
- Yes England is a new and difficult environment, that why we need to play as many games as possible before WC to get accustomed with the environment. And Ireland series will give us that opportunity.
- Some slots in the final 11 is still to be fixed, and for those players, its important to prove to the brain trust why they should be selected in the final 11.

Guess who is back it is not rarbine2 although it is me I changed my username and password this time. And whoever tries to ban me ever again they will pay the price.
After watching Soumya score a double hundred I change my opinion on him. He is talented but inconsistent. I highly doubt he will able to score well in foreign condition b/c of his technique but I wish the best of luck.

Results in this series shouldn't matter.

Mosaddek, Yasir, Soumya, and Nayeem should play all 4 games. Tamim, Mushy, Shakib, Riyad can be rotated along with the fast bowlers.

Tamim/Liton
Soumya
Yasir
Shakib/Mithun
Mosaddek
Mushy/Riyad
Sabbir
Saifuddin/Miraz
Mash/Jayed
Rubel/Jayed
Fizz/Jayed

Farhad Reza and Taskin have been added to our Ireland Squad and most likely will act as back-up to Rubel, Mustafizur while Reza to Saifuddin.

I think we need to perhaps only play the seniors in 1 match. Otherwise trial the rest of the squad and let them fight it out for the last few WC XI spots.

1. Liton Das
2. Tamim Iqbal
3. Soumya Sarkar
4. Mosaddek Hossain
5. Mithun Ali
6. Yasir Ali
7. Sabbir Rahman
8. Saifuddin
9. Mehedi Hasan/Nayeem Islam
10. Mashrafe Mortaza
11. Taskin Ahmed
