Group A: Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Oman Group B: India, Pakistan, UAE, Nepal
Full members may field their U/23 teams, with each team including four older players. UAE, Oman, and Nepal are likely to field their full strength national teams. The tournament is scheduled to start from July 14, with Bangladesh taking on Sri Lanka in the opening match.
Bangladesh Emerging Squad:
Saif Hassan (Captain), Mohammad Naim, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan (VC, WK), Soumya Sarkar, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Akbar Ali (WK), Sheikh Mahedi, Rakibul Hasan (SLA), Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Musfik Hasan, Ripon Mondol, Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanzid Hasan Tamim
Ridiculous to see an experienced player like Soumya still playing for Emerging team. I guess Hathuru wants him back by any means. Naim or Mahedi can at least justify that they only got 2-3 ODIs so far. Actual emerging players like Emon or Tamim prolly will be warming bench, with older top order batters with international experience crowding the side.
Hathuru is desperate to bring Soumya back. Assumption is that he's in consideration for #7, as a pace allrounder, as Afif in past expressed his unwillingness to bat so low down.
^for the love of god, just bring back Riyad in the team. Sharkar is even a worst bet. Also, what is our backup for the middle order? I can't believe they made Hridoy permanent in the team just after the Ireland series. That is not something they should have done ... lol.
Ireland currently is the punching bag of ICC WC qualifiers. Beating them and an awfully disorganized Afg has given haturi some powers in selection process..it's like hitting one self with haturi literally
Back to back rapid fire fifty from Tanzid Tamim - 51 (39 ball) against Sri Lanka, and then 68 (49) against Oman. Oman-A actually included a good number of their international players who defeated Ireland last month. Both of their opening pacers, trashed by Tanzid, have played a good number of ODI and T20I matches.
IMO, Tanzid has potential to be a power play game changer for us in post TIK era. From what I have seen of him so far, he looks technically solid and with a good range of shots.
Its premature to compare him to legends but Hasan Mahmud is a kid with a lot of potential. I am very hopeful from what I have seen from him so far. He needs another year under Donald.

Asia Cup will be Men's ODI tournament, to start from Aug 31. The full schedule is yet to be announced.
BAN vs NZ series will take place after Asia Cup. The ODI series will be played on Mirpur Sep 21, 23, and 26.
BD Emerging won the toss and chose to bat first against AFG. P Sara Oval is a high scoring ground, they will have to post a big total.
BD XI:
Naim Sheikh
Tanzid Tamim
Mahmudul Joy
Saif Hassan (C)
Zakir Hasan
Soumya Sarkar
Sheikh Mahedi
Akbar Ali(WK)
Tanzim Sakib
Rakibul Hasan
Ripon Mondol
Tamim Jr's dancing down the wicket against AFG pacer Mohammad Saleem (who got his ODI debut against BD couple of weeks ago) reminded me of Tamim from 2007.
