Image Posting Issues--Just Curious to know

In general, we post images as:


But some times this does not work and we have to use a different code as:
"<" img src = Link of the Image ">"
(Ignore the "--". Had to include those to show the code)

What is the reason for this? Why can't we post everything as ?

[ i m g ] is BB code. < i m g is html code.

Ma\y be that forum does not have BB enable. Look on the left whn you post, it will tell you if BB code is on.
