In the latest news, both Taskin and Shoriful may not play SL series due to minor injuries. Good news is that Shakib returning home, got permission to play for Legends of Rupganj for last four rounds of DPL Super league, to get some match practice before SL series.

My BCB team for the two day practice match will be-

Saif Hassan
Shadman Islam
Anamul Haque
Zakir Hasan
Naeem Islam
Mossadek Hossain
Nurul Hasan (WK)
Nayeem Hasan
Shohidul Islam
Abu Jayed
Mukidul Islam
Ruyel Miah (Wild card entry. Picked him due to our dearth of left arm pacers fit for FC cricket, in a format Ruyel shown promise in his short career so far.)

No SLA, only Nayeem as the specialist spinner, along with four of our reserve pacers.

Momin's off form has been going on for too long, has been hurting the team badly. It's high time to promote Liton in his place as the #4, handing the keeping gloves over to Nurul, and captaincy to Tamim.

Also, the team management have been short-sighted not to groom another top order option for the Test team. Thus we currently have no alternative to consider for Shanto, however badly he may struggle. They should bring in Shanto's U/19 teammate Zakir (only Bangladeshi batter to score 1k+ FC runs last year) in the squad as a backup to groom.

This is realy the first instance were Mominul has struggled when the rest of the lineup made runs. In NZ, he was amongst the runs and in SA most of the batsmen failed collectively. I'm talking about last 6 months of course.

Shanto doesn't need any alternative at this point because at the same stage (age 23, 15 matches) Liton averaged far less than Shanto's 28. But he was persisted with because the think tank saw something in him.

Otherwise you will end up with a situation like Mosaddek...Test average of 41 and first class average of 55 and yet can't get in the playing XI.

I guess its too much to expect BD to win a test at home against a relatively weaker SL side. Always had the expectation that we would be able to notch up a couple of wins once the likes of Sanga, Mahela, Herath etc would retire and we would have a much senior side.....lol

Batted too slow in the middle sessions of day 4 imo

I think in the longer run, Nurul will get the gloves and Liton will bat up the order. Can't believe BCB is supposed to be one of the richest but output is compared to someone with no money

Well what a huge embarrassment this would have been had it not been these two keeper batsmen

Liton, Mushy, Shakib, well done. Rest of the jokers should dig a hole a d burry your head in it. You would think after the Lankan legends retired, we would have a better chance, now need to wait for Matthews and Chandimal to retire aswell lol
