Was there something between Murali and Pilot on the field?
At the very end of the first ODI, it looked like Murali and Pilot got into something. The umpire had to step in. I am not sure, I might be wrong, but did you guys notice that? I think Pilot did a good job holding his ground. I could not hear anything at that time. What were the commentators saying?

something did happen. i'm not sure what happened. commentators also had no idea what was going on, but it was somrthing like murali wanted to bowl round the wicket and he asked pilot to move a little and give him some room and i think pilot didn't move. i'm not 100% sure, but thats what it looked like and thats what commentators predicted.

If that was the case, Mashud should have moved. If such a request was made, it would have been totally fair. You can't stand like a statue obstructing a bowler. I am also quite sure that Mashud is a very reasonable, decent player and would have moved if asked.
Anyway, nobody is sure as to what happened. So it is best that we leave it at that. If something bad happened it would have gone up to the Match Referee.
Players do exchange words in the heat of the moment but most would soon forget that.

Here is that What I read. Srilankan bowlers were trying to get rid of the last wicket of Bangladeshi Innings. Since they were frustated they were verbally abusing Pilot and Taposh. Pilot just replied back to Murali "You got 500 wicket with chucking, not bowling".
I dont know what might happen...I hope nothing going to happen.

I assume it's a fact because the sri lankans were eyeing at our last two batsmen; blabbering a lot in their language and showing disgust against Mashud and Tapash.

Not a big fan of sledging. But, Murali probably deserved it. I'll allow myself a private chuckle at the expense of the chucker, just this once.

Murali deserved it, that fag. We can kick their *** but our batsmen have to come down, esp. Ashraful...he should learn how to stay in the wicket like JO. We need Mashrafe...Don't think he will make it. Baishya is not dependable...too expensive and ineffective. Rasel is much better than him.

I never said that its true cause its in prothom-alo. just stated the fact that its was reported by prothom-alo as people were saying no news paper other than the desh had reported that.
But you are wellcome to believe them...
Also that guy (reporter) is over there and talked with plyrs directly so they have a little more info then others on this topic...

"friend"? haha...this is hilarious...this forum could definitely do with a refinement of its policies determining the filtering of offensive language .
anyways, guess it wasnt anything big, which is why no action was taken. i dont think they'd let something like that pass, as one of the members pointed out, just because both sides were involved.

This is no longer a friendly game. Its ODI.We should not ignore this type of incident and let it pass by.Whatever Pilot said ,its fine with me. Just let them know we are not negligible anymore. We have the power and capacity to beat them on any given days.
Please, please BD change your body language for today's game.Walk like a winner ..bat like a winner and play like a winner .
GO BD GO

Thanks for saying this. I think you are right.
Unfortunately I can't read what is in Amardesh as I am from Sri Lanka and don't know Bangla. In Sri Lanka too there are papers which would pick up the slightest thing but not a single paper has reported anything of a conflict between Murali and Mashud. So you might be absolutely right in what you say; that paper could very well be making up a story, just because it appeared that there were some words between Murali and Mashud.
Also, there would not have been any frustration among Sri Lankans to take the last wicket (as that paper had said) as the match was already won and the remaining play was only of academic interest. Can you see the logic here ? Sri Lankans have played hundreds of tighter matches with no incidents at all.
Also I think Mashud is a decent player who will never make a comment like "taking 500 wickets chucking". Bangladeshis are not known to be like that. We Sri Lankans view Bangladeshis as gentlemen cricketers.
If Murali and Mashud read what is here or in Amardesh, they'd have a good laugh together. Also, if there is some incident between Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi players, it would soon be forgotten by them but we fans should not divide and shoot holes at each other.
Sri Lanka is a small country very friendly towards Bangladesh. Yours was one of the first countries to come to our help when the tsunami hit us in December.
Let us enjoy the cricket.

That doesn't work either. Anyway, I suppose it is in Bangla. So even if I get there, I won't be able to read. I am from Sri Lanka.
Thanks for your efforts.
