Dhiman is officially one year older than Mushfiq (the unofficial age difference could be even bigger), I see no reason to whine about his age.

hmm, i think mushfique should retire from keeping. He can play as a batsman but not as a keeper. the reason is that he is barely 5 feet. His arms are small. Eye contact is not that good. A good keeper needs to be taller like Boucher/gilchrist/dhoni.

I am ready to add two more years on Mushi and make him 21.

Seems like close to 5'11" or 6' was taller than Abdur Razzak and Talha 3 years back or so. Unless they were shorter at that time.

With the kind of description given for him, Dhiman Ghosh must be a Gilchrist. I hope he will be able to blast Steyn out of the park in ODIs against South Africa while batting, the way Gilchrist used to do against all attacks.

NO bro. He's not a Ghilcrhist. He could be similar to Dhoni in ODIs.

It will take forever to find another player like Ghilchrist.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by similar to Dhoni ? Dhoni had caught public imagination by his big hitting during his India A days, which enabled him to force his way into the Indian team. I do not recall reading anything like that about Dhiman Ghosh.

I hope you are not saying DHoni is better than Ghilchirst. Or you are?

Anyways.

Dhiman had some good series with the A team and Academy team. He was supposed be the keeper after Pilot. But Mushy's success in U19 level kept DHiman behind.

Last year he had some good centuries against the Australian Academy team in Australia.(now don't say that Australian Acacemy team is very weak). Plus he's been doing well in Domestic cricket. He's averaging 35+ in List A games.

So based on those facts, I said he's similar to Dhoni. Dhoni is not a great cricketer. He's just okay.

Dhoni is a good hard hitter in the late middle order and so does Dhiman.

One Keeper who can match with Ghilchrist is Sangakara of Srilanka. Sanga is even better than Ghilchrist.

I have to disagree with you there Murad bhai, when you say that Dhoni is just okay, especially if we’re talking about his batting.

There once was a time not to long ago that Dhoni was known as a big time hitter who could come late in the innings and help India post a big total.

But recently, maybe after becoming captain of team India, he has started to play much more responsibly. In the recently concluded CB series Dhoni has shown that he’s willing and capable of rotating the strike with singles and doubles and that he’s capable of building a partnership in the middle of an innings to avoid a mini collapse. And he’s done this against Australia and Sri Lanka, two of the top teams in the world. I know its only one series, but he had a lot of pressure there, being captain and wanting so many young players on his team, and I think he delivered exceptionally well.

At one point I think you could have called him just an OK player, but I think now he’s closer to great that OK.

He was doing welll in the beginning of his career. He is not a good keeper as well.

He wasn't doing well with the bat for long time. and also with his keeping. Remember the England tour last year? He was about to get dropped but later in the year he was made the captain.

And thats why I said He's just Okay. He's not so good and not so bad.

His keeping must improve, I don't doubt that at all.

But I think that he's changed his batting style recently (which the commentators were also saying during the CB series), which is helping him become a more complete batsmen, who can play shots, but also play sensibly and rotate the strike as well.
