Some of us are rather allergic to criticism. As a team that looses more game than any, we should well get used to it. When we win a match, everyone praises us, even the worst of critics.

But when you put up a performance which BD did on day 1 and 2, you should accept criticism in the same manner.

Vaas could not have said it in a better way. He is a long campaigner of Test match cricket and he was generous enough to offer some words of guidance for Bangladesh team.

Try to understand his wordings, nothing is wrong in it and I applaud Vaas for a timely reminder.

Bangladesh players should put their heads down. You can't throw your wicket at this level. They should concentrate more at this level otherwise this kind of show will happen time and again.
If we agree with the fact that SL supports BD then we should take this as a constructive criticism. It will only help our young and less experienced cricketers (2nd innings result shows that, assuming they took Vaas' comment seriously). On the contrary, if you take it negatively, you will only loose in the long run.

one more thing, if people are consistently praising bangladesh on how well the team has improved or how "talented" we are, doesn't it make the players feel like they have nothing more to give and they start acting arrogant, so praise vaas for that comment. we do not want an arrogant bangladesh team, we want a never looking back consistent team who plays hard fro pride and honor, that's what vaas meant when he said that we should keep our heads down, because pride and honor is something we lack. when any human lacks those things, the human or the group should look down and settle for improvement.

Vaas's comments are, in no way, meant to humiliate Bangladesh. By "put their heads down" he means that the BD players should curb their aggressive, risky shot-making and work on their temperament. That's the impression I get from reading the piece.

I remember how in the Ind_BD series, Ravi Shashtri's "take no prisoners" comment was taken out of context and miscontrued to mean something ridiculous and offensive. Its sort of funny how the some ppl misinterpret these comments, get all riled up and then post garbage themselves.

Agree with #22 and #36 but still remain intact on my opinion about calling players being pampered (#2).

We have heard enough comments like they will get better with time, they are fairly new in test cricket etc. etc. I think they have been pampered too much and need some tough love. Totally agree with Vaas. At this level it's unacceptable to give your wicket away this easy.

Thats a 'racist' comment, nothing less. This is very disappointing to say the least.

Who cares about that retarded old Queen....She forgetfulness is embarassing to lot of people.
She even forgot that Australia celebrates her birthday and it's a public holiday (or didn't know). Let her read Rushdie's novel in her cosy Windsor castle. Cricket and real world is out of her league.

Sorry bit off topic.
