Match Thread: Test 1| BD vs WI @ ZACS | Nov 22-26
43 or 430+
We have a formidable batting line up now provided everybody clicks as needed.
Hope Shakib as a come back captain ready to compensate for that loss with his excellence, patience and leadership.
Squad: Shakib Al Hasan (c), Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Ariful Haque, Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Naeem Hasan, Shadman Islam
All the best!

Looking forward to Shadman's debut and Soumya's return to the Test team. Hope Rhodes now know enough to bench Imrul from the Test team.

If Fizz is rested then you need both Ariful and Soummya to balance the pace attack.

I wonder if Islam and Sarker both shines as opener...who would be TI's partner in the 2nd test!?

i would not pick Shadman in 1st test. Let Imrul and Soumya open, if one of them fails in the first test let Shadman debut in 2nd test. Here is my 11:
1. Imrul
2. Soumya
3. Mominul
4. Mushfiq
5. Mithun
6. Shakib
7. Mahmudullah
8. Ariful
9. Miraz
10. Taijul
11. Khaled Ahmed/Mustafiz

Tough to pick the openers, both did well in NCL, shadman did better I’d say but they had a nice little partnership together in the practice match. Both inexperienced though so they may still pick imrul to open instead of both shadman and soumya.

my squad would be,
Shadman
Soumya
Mominul
Shakib
Mushy
Riyad
Ariful
Miraz
Taijul
Fizz
Khaled
I am gonna opt for Ariful over Mithun... simply because I think Ariful has a better temperament then Mithun. And I am in favor of giving Shadman both games without any questions.

I guess Soumya will drop down since he has been playing no.3 in NCL.Or maybe Soumya will be slotted all the way down replacing one of Ariful or Mithun

I like to see following batting order settled by NZ tour next year -
Tamim
Shadman
Soumya
Mushfiq
Momin
Shakib
Nurul
Momin is a very shaky starter to be among top four in overseas conditions. Mushfiq needs to give up the gloves and take more responsibility as a batsman. Arif, Mithun, and Riyad (despite his century against Zim) should be LOI players only.

Chill dude.
On the other hand wish I could change the title and remove dates, at least it would fetch you here three times more

Not sold on Nurul. He got dropped unfairly but ever since, he didnt do anything to earn a call back. Cant pick him for his keeping only. If Liton plays that low then I am sure he will be a better batsman then Nurul

Let’s have an epic test win and end this year with a bang! It’s great that they will take the field just days after scoring 500 with ease.
Good luck Soumya.
Good luck Mushy.
Good luck Lil Bradman.
If these three play solid in one or both innings... my boys Taijul & Miraz will give ‘em ALL THE SMOKE

Nurul is the biggest hack going around much rather Liton against an older ball.

^^ Agree that Liton is a much better batsman, but he is not a regular keeper in domestics. I don't see how he can get the specialist keeper position in the Test team.

We don't know that Liton is a "much better batsman" at Test level. Liton's Test performances so far have been up and down. Same could be said of Nurul. Nurul is a better WK but Liton is a terrific bat pad fielder.

Momin would have scored a big hundred in Wellington last time...he got a jaffa from Southee to fall for 64. Thats when Mushy and Shakib put on a 300 run partnership.

My XI would be the same. Shadman is very much likely to play the first test according to rumors.

^ i thought tamim would be back by WI series. Still hasn't recovered?
And I hope they don't just debut this sadman guy and if he fails just discards him. Give him atleast a proper chance like liton is getting (even though this homeboy is failing badly in test)
