Default Spinners don't develop themselves!

About time BCB realizes spinners need just as much coaching as seamers do!

Not trying to make excuses here as no coach couldve prevented the brain-fart our spinners had. But Its baffling how we rely so much on spinners and yet we haven't had a proper spin coach for a long time now. We have had long term coaches for our seamers and they have definitely improved to some extent but I never understood why BCB expected our spinners to improve on accuracy, variations by themselves. Its hard being a bowler today as the game is becoming more and more batsmen focused. Spinners need a combination of good accuracy and handy variations to remain unpredictable. Just because we have a large pool of spinners does not mean they are gonna develop themselves.

We also need to stop signing these temporary or seasonal coaches like Vettori and hire someone full time. It doesn't need to be someone high profile but someone who is committed full time and understands the art of spin bowling.

As a team that will play majority of their games in the sub continent, there is no alternative to a good spin attack. Just because we are developing good seamers doesn't mean we should ignore the other half of the bowling attack! From being one of the best sides in the world in spin bowling 10 years ago, we have one of the least effective spin attack in 2021.

Need a spin bowling coach in domestics, one particularly for the wrist spinners.

They need to hit the nets and practice landing the ball at good line and length.

Nayeem's line/length was all over the place, and Mehidy was bowling way too full for the ball to even spin.

The erratic length was possibly due to over confidence as well as returning to test cricket after a long time. However, our spin attack is very one dimensional. A proper coach can definitely change that
