Batters Paradise?
I did a StatsFilter on R.Premadasa Stadium and here are the results.
No team has ever won in R.Premadasa Stadium batting second. The overall average per partnership is 40.80.
The Bad part: Murali's stats in R.Premadasa Stadium
Matches - 5
Wickets - 27
Best Innings - 6/98
Best Match - 9/227
Average - 25.96
It might be easy picking for the Lankan batters but our boys are going to have a tough time vs Murali.
So if we win the toss we'll make History in one way or the other.
1. First Test win vs Lanka
2. First Team to lose a match batting first at R.Premadasa Stadium
3. First Draw vs Lanka.

Also here is the record for this ground.
Sri Lanka 952, a world record in Test cricket, against India in 1997.
Sanath Jayasuriya . 340 in that match and added 576 for the second wicket with Roshan Mahanama (225), the highest partnership for any wicket in Tests... cricinfo

Ata-pata will not miss this chance to put Srilanka into record book so whether we lose or win the toss we are batting first.

Like all other test series, here we are back again with all the worries. It's either our batters failure or the oppositions ability to post huge total, that what bothering us the most. So it's our batting or their batting that we are really concerned about. If they bat like they did against India, thus making history, our players just have to keep faith in them that they can bat too but not going to go for the win(!!!) chasing the huge total that will be posted by lanka. We have to know about our limitations. We rather score 150 runs playing marathon innings in the whole 90 overs than playing 270 runs loosing all wickets in 10 overs. But unfortunately we are good at loosing wickets. One thing for sure that we can't chase huge lankan total they will atleat post 500-600 runs for sure in first innings with loosing only few wickets. Our bowlers should not get dissapointed for that rather they should bowl line in length continously just to check the runs. so I believe all our batsmen have to do is to bat with patience, which we lack a lot in longer version of games.
